new cpu cooler doesn't always work i found my q6600 ran hor no matter what i bout 2 or 3 different coolers and even took the system out of the case it was warm blooded. we spend hours analyzing it and the cpu cooler mounting check the spread patterns etc etc.

if you don't have a good cooler then yeah invest in one and or test the current one to make sure it is good i left a soldering iron on and and let it "just" touch the edge of the base.

My H50 with push pull would get me at around 75 with prime under full load. In BF3 I would only hit 59 max after 3 hours of gaming
