[MWOmercs.com] MechWarrior Online: Summer 2012 - Page 4

This game is not very good with a joystick.
Keyboard and mouse is more efficient and I would recommend that over a joystick.
Very few actually do play with joystick.
This game will not be out of beta for at least a few more years so don't wait.
Edit:
This is for MWLL

I already put so much of my time into school and Dota2 lol. If my friends ever got into this game I think I would end up putting a lot of time into it judging by how much depth you guys say there is.

The good thing is... that it offers an in-depth game experience without all of the cons.

1. Its Free-to-Play, and no one gets an advantage on you by buying DLC like other games.
2. Its not an MMO... so no one is compensated by how long they play.
3. Once you learn how to build a couple of nasty mechs, you just log-on and go have a blast, both, literally and figuratively.

Dude, 90% of people who play MW use a joystick... it offers much easier manuverability and offers much greater game immersion.
Not sure if serious..you may be trolling. AND FYI, the BETA is due this summer.

Seriously? I don't think we old school MechWarrior fans used a joystick with the originals. In fact, you didn't even really need a mouse aside from selecting stuff between missions.

By the way, MechWarrior Mercenaries is still one of my favorite games of all time.

EDIT: In fact, I know we didn't use joysticks because there weren't enough buttons. Also, Page Up was to increase speed while Page Down decreased it. Due to the control scheme of the game, the joystick would just be a clunky mouse.

Then again, I am basing that solely on the originals, I never played MechWarrior 3 or beyond.

Dude, not to go-on about myself, but i did play MW2 &3 competitively for years & years. And I can tell you... everyone used Microsoft Force feedback (Sidewinders PRO)... and I do mean everyone, I became close-friends with a lot of the clan-members and even clan-members form other clans. And everyone used a joystick... not only for game immersion, but you could maneuver better... just the fact-alone that you could twist your mech's torso by twisting the joystick and then have a jumpjet hotkey right there at your disposal... i really dont know how this could even be a debate, honestly. But hey, to each their own, if you like your keyboard then go on ahead, i just cant fathom how one can say its easier to play MW with a keyboard.

Well I'll definitely be trying it out, there are few free games that I do not try out. This year seems to be good for mech games though, there's MW, Hawken, and there was another mech game that just came out I think.

I know the old school MW games use joysticks but MWLL does not.
Since you failed to read my edit I just wanted to clarify.

Actually it is free to play model and initial development will be complete sometime this summer starting around year 3049 right before the clan invasion.

I have played all of the MechWarrior games with keyboard and mouse.

Those of us who know who Natasha Kerensky and Kai Allard Liao are can't wait for this product.

Sorry I miss read your post and thought it was for MWO

And yes I do know what MechWarrior Living Legends is. I find it funny that people tend to jump to insults so quick due to a mistake.

To be honest I would put my BattleTech knowledge up against anyone on this board. If you look at my sig pic to the left what does it signify? It is related to this thread.

I don't doubt your knowledge of BT lore I was just astounded that you quoted my comment and missed the MWLL part.
You were the second person to do that so I was getting a little frustrated.
Edit:
I like MWLL right now because there is no mechlab.
As to how I think MWO will implement theirs I believe they will try to do a good job but I don't have high hopes.
