Hehe tongue.gif I don't doubt that more RAM helped the performance either, I too saw more fluid play from going to 8GB of RAM. thumb.gif

I'm just trying to get to the bottom of these measurements when people say BF3 uses over 4GB of RAM.. tongue.gif

What program or BF3 command is that to get the green usage top right?
Yeah I'm thinking of grabbing another 4GB, trying to find 2 x 2GB of what I have.

Thanks

I'm thinking it's my VRAM causing the lag spikes.1

That is MSI Afterburner, if I'm not mistaken. thumb.gif

Hi guys,
I recently brought Battlefield 3 and I'm struggling to find the right settings to play on. I get alot of spikes during gameplay, and I enabled the in-game graph and every like 15-20 seconds the graph spikes for a few seconds, then goes back down.
It's very frustrating and I'm not sure what settings I should use, so I thought I could get some help on here.
CPU: i7 960 @ 3.2 ghz (stock)
GPU: 2 x XFX 6870 1GB Black Edition
Mobo: P6X58D-E
RAM: 4GB Corsair Dominator GT (2 x 2GB)
Monitor: 1080p
I was looking at my GPU usage and it doesn't seem to hit 99% on either card. I also once got a DirectX error saying my 6870 has no more memory, so I'm thinking it's my VRAM causing the lag spikes.
Does the BF3 auto setting detect your hardware and change the settings based on what you have? My auto changes to a mixture of High/Ultra - and that causes me issues.
What do you guys think? Should this be happening?
Thanks for any help smile.gif

Well I run the exact same Vid cards in xfire as you and I do not have a single problem. I would rather say it was a driver problem or RAM. I could check my ingame settings and relay that to you if you'd like. thumb.gif

@Andstraus Sure, if you don't mind grabbing a SS of your settings that'd be great. Thanks for reply smile.gif

@GanjaSMK Nice one, cheers smile.gif
