Best Matchup with Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition

Hey guys I have been out of the computer scene for a little while. Im on a tight budget for my new rig. And i am seeking expert advise on my new cpu "AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition". Right now i have my eye on a biostar mobo to fit my new black edition. Heres the mobo.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813138283

--And yes i do plan on overclocking. im just going to stick with a Zalman heatsink instead of going for watercooling this time. Im shooting for a steady 3.8-4.0ghz on this rig.

If would be great if i could get some feedback with my new rig idea. im willing to go up to $120 for a mobo. if you have any expertise you would like to share with me, please do.

--sidenote: and im not 100% sure if this G.skill ram i plan on getting will limit my overclock. unless i use a crooked multiplier. so let me know please

no...I'd recommend the ta990fxe..or sabertooth..If $$ is a factor ..look here:
http://www.geeks.com/products_sc.asp?cat=1220
Mushkin is supposed to be good for AMD..STT is..The Samsung is better than average..
I should fix my sig..It's really @ 7-8-8-20
For $47 ..I'd get this RAM ..more versatile..http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820147096&nm_mc=OTC-Froogle&cm_mmc=OTC-Froogle-_-Memory+%28Desktop+Memory%29-_-SAMSUNG-_-20147096
That G.Skill RAM is geared towards Sandy Bridge

Motherboard:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813138341 IMO..you should stretch that budget to include something like this
..or the ch4 from geeks
That m4n75 looks good..and it's cheap!

Hi, Does it have to be a micro ATX mobo? I have the same cpu as you and I think you would be better off getting a 990fx chipset motherboad. That way you can upgrade later on to the piledriver cpu when it comes out. thumb.gif I have the gigabyte 990fx-ud3 motherboard and I love it!

I will second Schmuckleys advice on the 8 GB Samsung 30 nm RAM. It is a winner, and you can't beat the $39.99 price tag. It was a hard sell to convince me about that Samsung, being so cheap, no heatsinks (doesn't need them), and having 11CL as the stock for 1600 Mhz. It auto-boots to 9-9-9-24 in my rig, and I am currently running it @ 8-8-8-24 1732 Mhz. The Sammies rock! I love my ASUS M5A97 EVO also. They run about $120, and you can get the non-EVO version for about $90. Both versions are loaded with USB ports etc. Can't beat ASUS for reliability, and the new UEFI (BIOS) with mouse control is great.

Edit to add: Before this mobo I had a Biostar A870 U3. It was a good board, no complaints (still running fine in my dad's 955 rig) but if you want something with a lot of features, get the M5A97. It is like the difference between a 1972 Chevy Impala and a 1972 Cadillac Eldorado convertible.
