Naos 5000 Occasional jitter.

Thread Starter
Hey all. I got an issues with my mionis Naos 5000.

Not often, about 2 - 3 times a day my mouse cursor will start spasming like it's having a seizure. I'll move it about and it the cursor will just jitter around in place. To fix it I have to lift the mouse off my desk completely. It's kind of annoying though. It's brand new. I can RMA it today but today is the LAST day.

Any ideas on how to fix this? I have no mouse pad, just the wooden surface of my desk.

ps. I already bought a Roccat Kone and it's in the mail, but if I can fix this things jitters I might keep both just because. As an aside what would be a good mouse pad for either of these 2 mice?

check the sensor for a hair or piece of dust it sounds like a problem I have when a tiny hair or something gets stuck up in the sensor you'll have to look really closely because even the tiniest hair can cause that.

What programs are you using when its jittering? Games I assume? because certain mouse options in games and the device driver control panel can cause problems like this, particularly with Microsoft mice as far as I've seen tho.

Try turning off things like smooth mouse movement and mouse acceleration

I'd grab a 9HD (that's what I have)

And personally, the Kone[+] is a very different mouse in my opinion. Read this thread:

http://www.overclock.net/t/1192800/my-third-roccat-kone-is-failing-need-new-mouse

and i switched to a Mionix Naos 5000... yet last night I just reordered the Kone[+] because i missed it's hump, the better scroll wheel (it just feels clickier) and finally, the clicks felt much nicer on the Kone. I just hope i don't experience any problems with it... it's just an awesome mouse. I'm in a love-hate relationship with Roccat right now... gah!
