NZXT Tempest 410: Fans Setup

Thread Starter
As The title says I want to know the right setup of fans for it, I have 6 Sickleflow and 2 NZXT stock fans that comes inside: http://www.nzxt.com/new/products/crafted_series/tempest_410

it says 1200 RPMS fans so which one are they?

this?

http://www.nzxt.com/new/products/case_fans/fn_120rb

Which intake, Which exhaust?

I think that Sickleflow exhaust and Stock fans intake?
From the website I would rearrange them this way:

FRONT, 2 X 120mm @ 1200rpm (1x included) - 2 intake Sickleflow
SIDE, 2 X 120mm - 2 intake both stock fans
REAR, 1 X 120mm @ 1200rpm (1x included) - exhaust 1 Sickleflow
TOP, 2 X 120/140mm - 2 exhaust Sickleflow
BOTTOM, 1 x 120mm - 1 intake Sickleflow

This way you should have 3 fans as exhaust with 5 fans as intake, which would give you a positive pressure setup. I have a similar setup with my Fractal Define R3 and it works great for me.

what difference would do front intake stock fans and sickleflow intake side, , bottom intake and upper and rear fans exhaust?

versus yours

I just have different fans. My bottom intake, side intake, and two top exhaust are 140mm fans as opposed to 120mm. I would set them up like in my previous post.

Trust me. You won't like Sickleflow 2000 rpm's in front. Later I'll go downstairs and try them out at 5 Volts, but you don't want anything fast out front.

Myself, I'd run two 1200 rpm fans as top intake, with filter material laid over them. Two relatively slow speed fans out front -- perhaps sickleflows at 5v. I'd cut out the rear grill. You can try a filtered input from the bottom. Side: two 1200 rpm, or two reduced-Voltage sickleflows.

I'll go check.

When I get my new PSU I`ll try that my antec failed =/

Which Antec? Who made it?

I just tested the R4 Sickleflows they run 1700's to 1800's on my free-air test stand, making an SPL in the mid-20's dBA. On 5 Volts (I have a dedicated 5v line), they ran mid-900's and about 1000 rpm, under 20 dBA, more likely in the mid-teens. The 1000 rpm seemed to push significantly more air than the fan in the mid-900's.

The Sickleflows both clicked at all speeds -- highspeed clicking at 12v, distinct clicking at 5v.

OTOH, my 800 rpm Slipstream was running 910 rpm on the Megahalems, making no noise doing it. If I didn't have my 800 rpm AP-12's and my AP-14's running at 5v, doing 700-750 rpm, I'd probably mount Slipstreams on my case.

In summary, I'd recommend listening to your fans at 12v, then putting your sicklefows on 5v and listening again. Getting 5v means simply unplugging the yellow (12v) wire on a Molex connector and moving a red (5v) wire to where the yellow used to be. The tool is here. A decent price, and with free shipping you won't find a better deal. I love these things for dealing with Molex.

Interesting. I have the same PSU - at 750W with blue LED's. My first one simply quit working. The RMA was painless, though.

Keep us posted on your fans.
