Uhh it's one of those passive cooled cards right?
I suppose you can use Msi Afterburner and crank it a bit but I don't really know how much you'll get out of it

It's hard to say. You might get a good overclock, you might not. It depends on your card. It's the same with high-end cards. Some overclock better than others.

Then there is the performance aspect of things. an overclocked GT 520 isn't going to give you any vast improvements. A little, but not really much at all.

Usually overclocking is a trial and error thing. Do a little at a time, and if it boots up and has no issues, then you could try to step it up more.

What he ^ said.
It's basically trial and error and unless you mess up EXTREMELY bad then you'll be okay

http://www.overclockersclub.com/reviews/galaxy_gt520_mdt/4.htm

overclockers club review got a little boost out of overclocking. the card is so low end that it can use just about any boost you can get from overclocking. is your card passively cooled or does it have a small fan such as the one in the review I linked?

I was recently using a GT420 (still in my sig) that I managed to overclock from 700 to 910MHZ without errors. This boosted frame rates by about 10-15FPS in BF3, though I have to admit this was a very good card. You may see similar results with your GT520. My GT420 wasn't passive cooled, though. Make sure that you card has decent airflow over it.

TIPS: Increase in 25MHZ steps on the core clock and then test with FurMark.
