Hi, I have a seagate 1.5tb Barracude 7200rpm and the L shaped black part of the power connecter is gone and only the gold chips are left. Is it possible to fix it?

The red colored part of the picture is whats missing but the gold chips are still there.

Nothing that could be considered a legitimate "fix" to my knowledge. Just plugging in the sata cable in the right orientation isn't working? Is it necessary for that lip to be there for a proper connection?

If so, craft something and superglue it on there thumb.gif

Hey mate

It might be possible to put the piece of plastic into an SATA cable end... Without it, I don't think there'd be enough pressure to make the contact between the drive contacts and the cable. A computer shop would probably be an option, I'm sure they've seen it before.

Hope it helps ya out !

Yea i tried putting the sata cable into the connecter but its just loose and falls off easily and I was thinking of bring it to a computer shop, but I dont know where....lol

Any tip on which computer shop?

Take it to a REPUTABLE computer / tv / electronics repair shop. Or possibly a data recovery specialist (will charge out the ass). With the proper tools, and a donor hard drive, it should not be a problem to swap the connector out. Look for someplace that advertises competency with micro-soldering.

If you can not find anyone competent around you, send me a PM, I may be able to help you out.

I found this place, never been here but it seems like a lot of people have really good reviews about it.
