Definitely white LEDs...I find them the most attractive.

I was also thinking about putting two white CCFLs on the top vents....something like this (again, stolen from a guy on FB):

Yes, airflow in from the bottom and out though the top. The case is on top of a desk.

The one think that irks me the most is the coloured cables. Should I sleeve or just spray paint them black? (Do people do that?)

Edit: I phail at reading...

http://www.amazon.com/NZXT-Sleeved-Light-Meter-CB-LED20-RD/sim/B0046Y1622/2

Those are the NZXT LED Kits. There is a couple of color options and at least two lengths.

I have a set of blue and green ones. They are pretty good.

Oh wait....Those sleeved LED lights already have a cable running through them? So that means inserting another cable is not possible?

EDIT: Nevermind. I am stupid. I get it now.

Yea, they come coiled up in a box. you can choose what size to get depending on your case size, then you mount the board that it comes with in one of your expansion slots, attach the sleeved cable to it, and string it along your case wherever you like, kinda like a christmas tree

Ya, I have a set of the white in my case for area lighting. As far as I know they are available in 1 or 2 meter lengths. I have the CM Storm Enforcer case and had enough length in the 1 m white to wrap it around my window (half-panel window).

Great lights, cost effecient, and easy to install. I removed the control module from the pci-e bracket, wrapped it in e-tape, and hid it under my HDD cage for aesthetic purposes.

As far as improving the interior of your case... same improvements as always.... cable management and single sleeved cables / extensions. You might also think about covering your PSU in vinyl, adding a PSU cover, or printing out a custom PSU sticker in place of the factory one. One thing is for sure, a color scheme is the best thing you could do aesthetically. My build is entirely red and black with white area lighting.

Pretty sure this is what you're looking for. Comes in different colors, of course. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812170034
