Looking to get 2gb dual channel of course - Page 2

Oh yeah, I would actually stick to your current BH-5.
2-2-2-0 is HAWT timings, plus it's 241 MHz. Get fewer programs running instead.

Lol what games do you play? You pretty much have to have 2GB to play BF2 or Oblivion on full settings.

>_> I play Oblivion at full settings without problems.

*EDIT*

Ran better on my sec. rig, even when HDR was turned on (That was the time where I had a 6800 16/6) it would run faster.
My main rig is not really mine, therefore alot of BS programs run on it.

I have completly shut everything down when I game. I have more services shut down in admin tools then you really should. I play BF2142 demo, FEAR Multi, Fear Extraction Point Demo, Hitman: Blood Money, Halo, and sometimes CS:S. I cant max out BF2142 due to memory and I dont think FEAR is allowing full resolution due to my memory also. I can only go up to 1280x960 max in CF.

I think if I bump my ram to 3.6 I might be able to get CAS1.5 but I dont think it will make much of a difference at this time. And yeah those timings are just hard to beat and thats why I like the ram so much and wont be selling it either. Thats why I was hoping to get basically the same set but 2gb (timings wouldnt be as tight though).

I second the 2 gig of RAM for gaming. If you have never had 2 gig of RAM then you are in for a large boost in performance. Synthetic bench testing is exactly that- synthetic. Load the game up of choice and feel and see the difference. 2 gig is an absolute minimum for today's games and is a very worthy investment that will do you well. Gees BF2 runs better for me with 2 gig with a 100 divider than 1 gig of RAM overclocked to DDR600 plus speeds. 2 gig all the way

EDIT- you will not get the tight timings with a 2 gig kit like you have with the almighty BH-5.

Are you sure these are TCCD's? From just looking at the model number it shows BHZ at the end which makes me think they are BH-5.

The current set you have are BH-5. gonX means the G.Skill DDR500 HZ have Samsung ICs They don't like very high voltage and they will not tighten the timings at all, regardless of speed or voltage. 3-3-3-x is about the best you can hope for. Mine run happily at 275MHz 3-4-4-7 and 2.7V

I have experience with the GeIL BH-5 like yours, and I prefer the 2GB G.Skill.
