there are actually just... umm.. 5 drive bays but there used to be two bays for the floppies and i cut those off. and the first one was used for the power and reset switch.
but you're right, the front panel is huge

got a better pic of the frontpanel. there's still a couple of spots that i'll have to repaint but i'll do that tomorrow.

Keeps getting better and better...

That intake really came together nicely, I can not see any seams. I hope to emulate that sometime in the future, but I'm gonna have to practice first. Nice craftsmanship.

no actually not planning on wet sanding it.. why?

brinnutz: i first applied primer, then a first very thin coat of black, then another 4 coats of black and then 2 coats of clear coat.
the black's very shiny tho so i dont really need the clear coat.

anyways, started modding the psu today:

Because the surface will look smoother. But you have to use a high grit sandpaper 800 or 1000.

Take a look at this tutorial :

thx for the link :-) i think i'll do it like its said in the tutorial.

here's some more pics of the psu mod. tomorrow i'll head out to get some plexi to build a "box" around the psu to be able to hide the parts of the cable where i soldered the new ones on.

lol here's another one of my great sketches :
