Fortunately, I'm older and know what good music is now. I can appreciate a lot more than rap which a lot of people can't (and that's sad).

So, basically what you're saying is, anyone who only likes one genre of music is immature and doesn't know good music?

That's a pretty stupid opinion. wink.gif
Actually, that's precisely what I'm saying. If you can only pull yourself to like one genre off music, be that rap, rock, only dubstep, only classical or only jazz, then that's a shame (that's sad).

I wonder if they HAVE HEARD other genres of music. If they have and reject that music I find that even more sad. If you can only relate to one genre of music..I personally feel there's nothing interesting about you. You seem like one of the mindless masses and that's just based on your music preference. I haven't even looked at the rest of your interests and stances.

If you only like one genre of music that is pretty immature imo. You're like a child that only likes one type of food despite not having tried any other types to know whether they're good or not. And if you did try them and didn't like them..I'm somewhat at a loss. I think it's a shame that your tastes only revolve around one type of music no matter how good your preferred genre may be.

They're not really that bassy, that's the sad part. At least, the quality of the bass is poor.

I personally don't care. I have had many people at my school ask me "Why the hell don't you have a Macbook Pro if you have $1500 to spend on a laptop? Are you stupid or something?" One guy in my economics class got into an argument with me about how his Beats by Dr. Dre Earbuds sounded a lot better than my Ultrasone PRO 550's because they had "more bass man, and thats good for like rap and [censor] bro, sucks that you listen to some crappy music like metal man, you cant get laid with that [censored]".
Society is based on showing off. That's just the way it is.

SOOOO well put. I have Ultrasone PRO 550's as well and have had idiots try to tell me their Beats are better. I cant even bring myself to feel bad for them

The fact is they're Monster, and while Monster makes perfectly good products, they typically charge 25-50% too much for most of it. Add on to that the endorsement deal with Dr Dre and you get an additional 10% mark up. Really, if the Studio Beats were $100 cheaper they'd be really good headphones for the money. The Pro Beats are also about $100-150 too much, but are completely worth $250-300. And if the Solo Beats were like $75 I'd probably own a pair.

They are a lot like Bose: they are NOT bad headphones. They are just overpriced, and you can get better headphones without the same marketing for the same price.

Compare any Beats to similarly-priced AKG, Audiotechnica, Beyer Dynamic, Grado, Klipsch, Sennheiser (you get the idea) and you can get better headphones for the money. But by no means are Beats bad headphones.

I truly hate these headphones. They are just akg headphones that are disgustingly overpriced and people buy them because dr. Dre's logo has been slapped on the side of them.

When I tried them for the first time, I just didn't understand why people will drop so much $$$ on them when there are way better headphones for the same price or even cheaper. They weren't even that great, they sounded like cr*p and they were uncomfortable.

my opinion... beats are just regular headphones in a nice casing with the name of a rapper on the side. All your paying for is the brand itself. There are too many people, with too much money, who dont know how to put it to good use.

I heard a pair of £300 beats (well that's how much they were retailing at on the high street) and they were disgusting to listen to. Even if they were only £50 I'd still not want them (other than to sell on to some unsuspecting hipster rolleyes.gif).

The bass was so overpowered it was ridiculous, distorting the entire tone of the music. It wasn't even particularly impressive sounding bass.

The rest of the music just sounded crass. It didn't have the clarity i'd expect of £100 headphones, maybe not even that of £50 headphones, nevermind £300 headphones.

I disagree about the rapping part. He was good at producing the background beats and arranging the track. He was always poor at rapping and writing lyrics imho.

My friend has some Beats against my advice. There actually not bad at all, just overpriced like much of Monster's stuff.

Monster makes some very good headphones as far as sound quality. It's one of the few things they actually do well at.

Just somewhat overpriced.

Personally I used to love my Monster Turbines, just died a few months ago. Cable broke. Seems re-cabling turbines is next to impossible also.

Funny how a company that makes so many high quality cables for everything, puts such fragile cables on their high end headphones.
