As for my USB speakers, they sound pretty good to me for the most part. They don't require any serious cranking, despite my USB hub, 5v power supply and sound card driving them. In fact, I would be very wary to turn them up high. I think I could crank up some loud music and it wouldn't sound bad, in fact, it sounds really good as far as I'm aware. I haven't had these speakers for a long time, yet, but I am liking what I'm hearing.
What do you play on your laptop that sounds good? I was playing music in my dv6 vs. C840 comparison, with the same track being what I think my headphones & USB speakers sound fairly good at.
IDK, my laptop is a 17" top of the line so maybe they could have fit some better (maybe more) speakers in. i think it has like 6 speakers or something. And everything sounds good. Bass is a little lacking but the sound is good.

I really think the speakers are some random crap with Dr. Dre sticker. Girl in class has HP Spectre with beats and the sounds sucks while other guy has HP envy and the sound is pretty good. I've never heard of anyone called Dr.Dre either, just from the headphones.

I'm sorry, Waves MaxxAudio is infinitely better in terms of laptop bundled audio software packages. Not to mention it's the onboard speakers that make the most difference, not the software.

Also saying 'HP DV7' is like saying 'Intel i5'. It means nothing without the model number.

Okay, mine has 4. I notice the bass lacks, and that's the main thing I don't like about the sound. Maybe it is my expectations after all, from expecting good bass if they're advertising the sound. I should give it some slack, as it is a laptop, after all, but I guess I didn't think good sound doesn't necessarily equal good bass.

It's possible that the sound is messed up in another way as well, but I don't know. Maybe it's a driver issue, maybe not.

Either way, at least I have good speakers and headphones I can use to substitute them. Perhaps you should try this and tell me how it sounds. Is there bass? Warning: EXPLOSIVE!

Thank you for the information!

well its in my profile. and i doubt anyone would know it unless they either had it or were thinking about getting it because there is a different model number for a laptop exactly the same a mine but with windows 8 so there are obviously a lot of codes to remember.

no, not really. by the way, i you haven't (im sure you will have) you can turn it to music mode in the beats panel to bring the bass up. In iTunes if you use the bass booster eq as well then i do get bass. but my laptop is pretty much a desktop replacement so i just have it plugged into computer speakers with a subwoofer anyway.

Hmmmmm, okay. I guess it's just my expectations then. I think I was using VLC to play it. Also, I'm pretty sure I used the music mode.

If you were going to listen to that music, would you go and grab headphones or not?

My dv6 tends to be a desktop replacement as well, but not all the time. My C840 is usually by itself.

I cant believe most of you haven't heard of Dr. Dre. Its actually pretty funny. Im sure all of you have heard of eminem right? Well guess who produced most of his songs? Yes. Dr. Dre. So he has alot of audio knowledge, more than most seem to give him credit for. I dont endorse Beats at all, nor do i own a pair but my brother does and ive used them on several occasions. To me they are just average headphones with the price set too high. But you guys treat them like apple. Hate for the sake of hating when there is nothing really even wrong with them besides the price. People get to have their opinions but i doubt most of you have even tried them. Style is important to some people and most of the time money doesnt matter to them. If you know your audio and want to save money you dont buy them.. but everyone has their own tastes in music and what they like from their music and how they want it to sound. Anyway i thought id just share how i felt on them.. after all, i bet each and every one of you wish you could market the way he can. regardless, haters gonna hate.
