Experienced help needed.

Hello gents wave2.gif

I need some help with my current overcloaked configuration so I decided I'll turn on you guys since a lot of people have a lot of experience with overcloaking here. I overcloaked my CPU to 4.5GHz and I need help setting all the settings in BIOS. Now I had 1 restart since I overcloaked but I just turned my voltage from 1.32 to 1.33 and it never restarted since than. I decide to ask for help because when I turned my computer on this morning it booted but then it turned off and rebooted? I runned prime 95 for 1 hour and the system was stable and my max temp was 68C. Now can you guys tell me if my settings in BIOS are correct cuse ( and if myb I need to optimize some ) it seems weird that my cpu rebooted it self when I turned it on this morning. Oh and I'm runnig my pc with my current configuration for a week and never had any stability problem.

My Spes:

-Asus Maximus IV Gene-z
-Intel i7 2600K overclocked to 4.5GHz
-8GB of Vengeance RAM running at 1333Mhz
-Sapphire HD 7970OC 1125 Core / 1575 Memory
-Noctua NH-C14
-Corsair Enthusiast Series TX 750W V2 - 80+ Bronze

My Bios settings:

Firstly welcome to OCN post-flame-small.gif

I might be a good idea to set the RAM to stock first so we can rule that out from any instability later on. Set the Ai Clock Tuner to XMP Profile - That'll set the timings, frequency and voltage automatically to stock.

There are a number of other things that you should change from the get go to help with stability, power delivery, throttling etc.

Here are my settings for my board, they're similar to the mobo that you have. The only difference would probably the voltage page, obviously that'll vary.

Couple of things, use manual Vcore to begin with and Ultra high LLC. Vcore over protection can be set to either 130% or 140%. In CPU performance settings, you don't have to change the CPU ratio as you're already changing the Turbo multiplier in the previous page. Let the above settings be a guideline, but as mentioned use manual voltage. PLL and VCCIO is something else, I changed those after testing out all / most increments to tweak the overclock as much as possible. There is a guide in my sig that'll help with overclocking. One last thing you should aim for longer prime95 run smile.gif

If you have issues with idle bsods please do let us know. Concentrate on getting the system stable for atleast 12 hours Prime blend, use manual voltage and then go on to using offset, the guide in my sig should help with offset voltage.

Good luck thumb.gif

Ok I set my RAM to stock timings which are 9,10,9,27

I have my PLL set to 1.7 but If I try to set VCCIO voltage to 1.125 they get highlited in yellow? so I set them back to Auto. Oh and I noticed that my VCCSA/IO are combined ( check my pictures ) any idea why?
