That is why you will notice some of the EVGA future designs will have a bracket. If we can add it we will.
Secondly regarding the warranty, we changed it because of demand. Now it is transferable and no registration required.

Are you saying that they have no issues unscrewing 13 screws to install a backplate but not 2 to mount a high flow bracket?

I know I'm being a dbag but at the end of the day I wouldn't purchase any other brand than EVGA, we live in the age of customer service and you guys definitely deliver =)

I don't know what this revised warranty would do to resell value. It's better in some ways, not so good in others. Remember that guy who RMA'd a 295GTX and got a 580GTX back from EVGA? That was really cool... I felt more likely to spend massive ammounts of money on high end evga video cards in those days, but I could imagine that type of warranty is highly corrosive to profits as well, and R&D is not cheap. I look forward to your non-ref cards, when I was a kid I always dreamed of owning a Classified card, and now I have a career wink.gif *hint* hurry plz =D

I would take a transferable 3 year warranty over a limited lifetime warranty any day. I think the value saved by EVGA is huge and the community who is buying the high end cards and giving them the most profit are those who are upgrading constantly and reselling their old cards. The ability to transfer is huge and probably brings EVGA a great deal of money from other brands and high end users.

If this doesn't make sense it's because I'm not sober. In my mind it makes total sense. biggrin.gif

Backplate installation is done after finished boards are received, and those cost extra.

680gtx SC + Backplate on order =D

Keep up the good work guys!

Any chance at a ballpark ETA for 580 Classified Price drops? My buddy's asking..

Also, I'm offering $800 - $900 shipped PER card for golden samples guys so if you catch a good one chuck it my way. That's almost double what you paid, you could sli for a little more. I'm talking 1300~1370Mhz golden. For ~1400Mhz(if even possible?) I'll literally double what you paid for it excluding your shipping costs. Solid stability proof required. Needless to say I'd like to see some trader rating also. Must be EVGA brand, else i'll offer less. I'm far too busy to bin them at the moment, studying for Server+

So if I needed 3gb of RAM would I:
A: pay $539.99 for last year's highend
B: wait two weeks for 4gb 680GTX for $559.99 for +30~35% more performance, more VRAM for $20 more
HMM
tuff decisions guys.. almost had to use my brain for that one
I have artsy fartsy friends I'll get them to draw a classified logo on the 680gtx 4gb with water colors! A $200 value for FREE!
I'm just screwin' with you guys <3
Anyway if I buy the 680SC + high flow bracket they will both arrive in the same box right?

Its going to be a little longer than 2 weeks. Jacob said probably may/june for the FTW cards. The vram is not going to make that much of a difference, just pick up the 2gb version and be happy biggrin.gif. If you look at benches the 2GB 680 compares very well and even beats the 7970 3GB card at 5760x1080. Some charts show some dipping with with the 680 at certain points... but by how they look I believe it is driver related and will be smoothed out soon. Most games wont even use the 1.5GB that the 580 offered. As another member on here stated, using afterburner or other programs to see how much Vram is being used is not valid since programs cannot actually monitor Vram usage. Games allocate Vram and dont really free it up, So really just because one might be playing BF3 with a 2GB card and seeing 1.9 GB of "usage" does not mean they are using 1.9 GB of Vram... they might only be using 1.25Gb of vram but the program is reporting more due to how it is allocated.

Oh I know man, I already bought 2gb version I only game at 1080p single screen, I was replying to the previous posts that were ATTEMPTING to justify why the 580GTX classified 3gb is more expensive than the 680GTX + Backplate in EVGA store. I was saying theoretically if I needed more, as people were using extra VRAM as an argument to why the 580GTX classified is more expensive...The 580 Classified is a piece of art IMO but the ref 680 destroys it, and for $20 less. Unless you are buying as a fashion statement the 680 is the better purchase....

G status

I don't mind giving EVGA $10 extra to install my backplate. I mean they DID replace 2 of my 570GTX (each was $350 in Canada) that blew up, within 2 days no questions asked. I don't mind supporting companies with excellent customer service, this is becoming harder and harder to come by. It makes no logical sense to buy pre overclocked ref card but neither does buying macdonalds, going for the 2 for 1 deals at walmart for crap you dont really need. I don't mind, I'm pretty disciplined with my spending, I can afford to make some "inefficient" decisions now and then to support a company I love. If I was on a budget I wouldn't even look at pre overclocked ref card however my tax return was rather nice this year =)
