Shared groups seen in Homegroup but not the folders or its contents.

This is strange. I have a desktop and a Laptop. Either on a ethernet connection or wireless, the computers see each other. Shared items are presented such as Documents, Music, Pictures, videos on each computers of the other's items.

Click on the say, the "My pictures", then there is nothing. It locks up. The laptop does the same. Nothing. No folders are presented, no file contents are presented on either of the computers.

Times on both computers are properly synced. I checked the firewall. It is allowed on both.

I am at my wits end. Please help with what am I doing wrong. I could pull all my hair out at this point. Why can't Microsoft make it simple?

That did not help: Windows + enable Homegroup sharing.

The computers see each other. The icons appear in the explorer on respective computers. There is just something that I need to do to see each other's folders. I do not know what it is. In other words, it is almost there - but not quite. It used to work. After windows updated the OS automatically, things are not working anymore.

Anyone knows the solution? Please help.
