Nostalgia, humans are very good about forgetting the bad. Most people I knew in high school reminisce about how much fun it was for them. While in high school though they complained daily about how much it sucked. Either their life sucks really bad now and by comparison it was better or they have selective amnesia. Which I think is the issue with World of Warcraft players, they only remember the fun stuff and not all the stuff that made them rage.
Just my 2 cents.
agree. Some of the changes aren't bad at all. the older expansions were grindfests. I'm sure some people enjoy the grind, but for me, having played from Vanilla to Cata, albeit in spurts for the later expacs after BC, I'm glad they did some changes to make it easier. It didn't make sense that only a handful of guilds were doing Naxx a few weeks before BC came out. Granted, I miss little things like epic kiting, but i move on.
I haven't been playing as much as I did in Vanilla + BC, but I wouldn't say it is because of the direction Blizz went with the game. It's just I found other interesting things to do with my time, and subconsciously I don't want to commit as much time in the game anymore as I did in college, which looking back, I hated in the back of my mind, as I chose to forgo more important things.
P.S. LFG and LFR we're so horrible in Vanilla, I don't know how people miss it. (I do miss the funny global LFG chat though)
