[TS] LG to ship first 55" OLED TV in May for $7,928 - Page 6

It's a lot easier to squeeze 2,000,000 pixels on a 55" screen than it is to squeeze 4,000,000 or even 3,500,000 pixels onto a screen half the size. Pixel density also plays an important role in production costs. There's also the matter of who will buy them - I don't think I've been into a first-world home without a television (financially speaking, I do know a few people who refuse to own one on principle), and many people treat it as the end-all and be-all of their living room. Very few monitors are treated that way. By and large it seems like consumers are comfortable spending $500-$2000 on a TV, while most people balk at spending over $300 on a monitor.

Now with 3 of those in eyefinity, almost 0 response time and perfect image, that should be a blast, reminder to my self, need to win the lottery.

As soon as I read this Vega came to mind, then I look through and see he's already posted. tongue.gif
