If you got the overnight shipping free but there was a delay in the shipping company, say a few days time because of some whatever reason and you couldn't finish your build in time because of the shipping company instead of frozen would you of still made this thread?
one time i ordered a buncha cable extensions and some other cable management stuff but they forgot one of the extensions. called them up and they had one shipped over with i believe next day fedex, none the less i got everything in 3 days, which is still faster than most companies.

they have def gotta be one of the quickest shippers.

That isn't the point. If it was the couriers falt he would have a gripe with them.

The guy paid for a bunch of parts to a build. He then chose an expedited shipping option so he would receive the item by a set date. FrozenCPU made an error, and the parts are not going to meet the deadline. Now ask yourself, who's at fault?

There are varying shipping speeds for a reason. Although whether or not they arrive is mostly pertaining to the courier, FrozenCPU still must do everything in their power to get the items delivered in the specific time frame.

To compare this situation to another real-world scenario..

When a company is contracted to build say a bridge, they are given a deadline for when the job has to be completed. If the construction company fails to meet the deadline, they usually have to pay hefty fines, often for EACH DAY OVER THE DEADLINE.

Now back to the topic, seeing as the items did not arrived by the time they should have, and FrozenCPU is the reason why, should they not pay the penalty (in this case the $19.xx to have it overnight shipped?

I actually have had that happen. And I learned my lesson, don't order stuff online during the winter holidays as in more cases than not, there's a good winter storm holding everyone back somewhere down the line, lol.

Yet, they offered to send it free of charge through their general shipping method. Which is procedure. Usually when you sign up to a site or right before you push checkout on your order, there's a checkbox and a guideline which pretty much lays out these rules and regulations. Maybe it's time to start reading those before you click the checkbox agree'ing to them?

You're coming around to the reason I made the post. I'll refer you back to post #20 that I made. I made the thread to inform the forums users that they should review the companies policies before ordering and not make the same mistake I did. You should read the entire thread. Might save you some time.

The policy is what's really in question here and whether it's a good idea to do business with companies with similar policies. I will pay more attention in the future to a companies policies.

Time is money and they've wasted my time. They had the opportunity to overnight the part for $19.44 to correct their mistake. That is not enough money for a company to lose a customer over.

I'm not going to bother discussing business ethics with you guys. If you don't know, then you're not the type of person this thread was meant for. You're just here trolling.

I think you're expecting too much from them, and need to rethink things from their perspective.

They're a small business who service a wide-range of customers (some are small, some buy a lot, some might even contract with them).
Human error is going to happen, and while they want to make good on any mistakes (they did), they can't break out the white glove service for everyone - it needs to be reserved for their best clients.
