Wow. That'd be great. Thanks man! What resolution will you run at, 1080p? biggrin.gif

Now, I'd wish to see now a small price drop of 50 to 100$ on the 7970 and I'll keep encouraging AMD.

I just found out about this setting! eek.gif

Does SSAA work on titles that don't natively support AA? Examples being GTA IV and Borderlands?

No, officially it does not. Game must have native AA, but it works with Unreal Engine games like Mass Effect that doesn't have in-game AA. Since Borderland uses Unreal too, it may very well work.

With the 7000 series, it now works for DX9, 10 and 11 games, though.

It gives by far the best IQ in my opinion, much better than 8X MSAA and it treats transparent textures.

GTA can use Supersample (SSAA) with ENB mod (Laglace or Gioknight are the latest execution). It did not worked perfectly with my 1GB of vram, but the image was outstanding.

That's actually not true in all cases. There are some games w/o native AA support that you can force it in but it's very hit or miss when you get in that direction. As you said a lot of UE3 games don't have native AA but you can force it to great effect. I don't know any of the top of my head but I know there are some games. I'm pretty sure just to give you a recent example that Deus Ex allows you to force it.

Basically most Dx9 games will work, and then some 10/11. It's definitely a nice thing to have. It's one of the reasons I really actually like AMD drivers.

Also Adaptive AA if you don't have the muscle to force supersampling is a pretty awesome thing as well. Sometimes it will even tank your framerates but never nearly as bad as SSAA.

I found a list of supported DX9 games. thumb.gif

Deus ex is not there. I wish it was because lack of AA was killing me.

I just got my 7970 and started playing Mass Effect 3. I'm playing on a 2560x1440 monitor and I couldn't stop thinking how bad the graphics looked. I remembered ME2 looking better on my 1080p display.
Even forcing MSAA x8 didn't help. And the in-game FXAA made the game so blurry, I hated that as well.
There is no substitute for high-res textures (this game needs them badly) but forcing SSAA makes things a lot better!
Thanks guys for the tip.

ssaa is a trap for benches too. Some users are comparing the max image quality 7970 and 680 can deliver via control panel , when nvidia can only force trssaa which is only comparable to amd 's Adaptive AA.. Of course when comparing trssaa vs ssaa , nvidia card delivers much better fps , and that's enough clue for not informed people , to believe that nvidia card is much stronger for max quality....mad.gif

Could anyone please run Operation Swordbreaker and take screens with FPS overlay (High 1080p with 4x SSAA)? Thanks a lot.
