smp? uniprocessor?

So I started to finally get into properly folding and got the FAHControl which I think bundles all my folding processes into a neat little window. Anyways when I set it up I was running smp for the folding on my processor, but after a while I checked there was a uniprocessor option to pick from. Is there really a difference between selecting uniprocessor and smp asides from the base credit being larger?

Ahh ok I thought my suspicions where right. I just got confused since the description it said "An smp slot uses 2 or more cpus"

if you have a multi core CPU then do the SMP core. That is going to give you way more points especially because there is a bonus system involved. If you have not already done so go here: http://fah-web.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/getpasskey.py to receive a passkey. after you complete 10 WUs SMP you will start to get the bonus points
