Can't Overclock GPU Anymore?

Basically I've been changing around MSI afterburner versions and I'm no longer able to overclock when Unofficial Overclocking is enabled. Both the core clock and memory clock shows up as 0 and is not able to apply changes. The clocks run at default settings.

I've tried 2.2 Beta 15, 14, 12, 11 and 2.1.0 official.

I've entered the EULA in the .cfg, set UnofficialOverclocking as 1 (or 2).

The problem occurs whether I have 1 GPU or 2GPUs connected.


I've tried Sapphire TriXX software and if I try to change any values there it says ULPS is enabled. So I disabled all ULPS in the registry and rebooted but still cannot overclock.



Last week I was able to change frequencies to whatever I wanted. I've recently updated to AMD Catalyst 12.2. Could this be the issue?

I have confirmed it now. Catalyst 12.2 and 12.3 do not allow unofficial overclocking. I'm running 12.1 and all is fine.

Thanks for breaking something again, AMD!

yes you can still overlock with 12.3 all you need is patch ab.try to search in 7950/7970 thread

I shouldn't need to have to patch something on my own to fix something that AMD broke.

@SkillzKillz: AMD did not break anything as they took out the two required .dll files that enable unofficial overclocking so noobs wouldn't fry their cards. They have left us enthusiasts a VERY easy way to enable the overclocking that we want. All we have to do is install the 2 .dll files required and ATiman made a tiny installer for it. Unless you think that 10 seconds it too much time to take, it is the perfect solution.
