[IncGamers] Diablo 3 Hacks Already Released - Page 4

What they need to do is increase severity of punishment and do more frequent sweeps. If your cdkey got banned for life if ever got caught, and they did semi weekly sweeps, the number of botters would plummet

Agreed. They could also cut down on man-power by having a system that bans people for doing impossible things. I.e. If it takes 1 minute to craft an item under the best possible circumstances allowed by game code (all possible buffs, etc.), it auto-bans anyone that makes over 60 per hour. Same goes for going from X to Y, doing damage and so on. They made the game, they can calculate the absolute max values for stuff in the game; just implement an auto-ban for anyone that exceeds that value.

Just look at BF3. There's people with over 100% accuracy on weapons (MGs), scores that are physically impossible (10 million in a few hours) and so on. They could easily calculate the spawn rate for a 32-man team, figure out what the max score is per minute via best-case kills (long range headshots, etc.) and prevent that kinda stuff.

Obviously for PvP it's an issue, but real PvP would be end-game anyway and hardly a few better items would yield 100% win chance. In the end the most people cheating/buying stuff can't play for ****, instead of improving their game they choose to get the paper advantage.

Check out their new auction house. You can sell stuff for real cash. Basically any advantage is insanely bad, bordering on game-breaking.

It's been out for over a year. And yet players still can't exit out of a custom game that's counting down unless they actually log out of B.net? What?? Really ridiculous that something so basic still isn't addressed. In Warcraft III, a game made MANY years ago, a player can exit easily by merely pressing escape. AND, the countdown aborted to find a replacement player. Really basic stuff. There still isn't a cancel/escape button, and who knows if they fixed the abort issue.

This is actually done by hostbots which have only been around for a couple of years or so now. If you host a game on B.Net without a hostbot and someone leaves during countdown, the timer does not stop and the game begins.

This. I remember reading about thousands of players being banned at a time in DII after Warden was first implemented. People thought twice about hacking and I always wondered why they don't do sweeps/bans more frequently.

Edit - It should be noted/repeated that these hacks do not fully work and Warden and other anti-hack measures are not enabled yet.

I am starting to have second thoughts about playing Diablo 3. I know bots will eventually make their way into the game as well as chinese gold farmers. I really hate to go through another Diablo 2-ish experience when it comes to hacks, farmers, botters etc.

Accounts get banned, yes, but those people just buy another game and continue on with botting/farming etc. Considering they only do sweeps every so often, a botter can make some good bank before the account gets shut down.

The auction house is a terrible idea as well. This will just make it easier for botters to sell their wares.

I think I will wait and see before I plop down $60 and waste hours of my time.

First game to let players sell their items for real money, you can expect gold farmers from around the world to flood d3. Worse of all if you don't spend money, you will be behind any players who do spend.

figures. hacks were always rampant with D2. i just hope that it doesn't give a MAJOR advantage to hackers, like a maphack in SC2 would.

The problem with D2 was that the drop rated for rare rune was abysmal. I used to play 4-5 hours a day back in highschool, would manually kill all major hell bosses (with 3+ people in the game), also clear cow level, and trav. I think I found one Ist out of a year of farming. At that point I realized most of the runes were dupped / botted, and I got bored of doing the same stuff over and over.

You should be able to find higher end gear in you play enough, but that didn't happen in D2 due to blizzard accounting for bots and dupes.

What killed D2 is duped items , I hope hacker will never find a way to dupe items.
