[Work Log] N7 Armor (Finished) - Page 6

I am sorry to those who have subscribed to this log and haven't heard much from me. I have been making some progress. I have finished repainting the red and white stripes for the last time. Unfortunately I do not have pictures of the final paint because I am currently without power at home. I will be dropping off the pieces to have the carbon fiber done on it and once that is done I will get pictures. Once again I am sorry for not posting anything recently. Thanks again to all those who have subscribed.

I drove to the shop that I was going to have the carbon fiber done, but I was told that it would be a two month wait. I am going to wait the two months since it would be cheaper and I think the ending result will look nicer than the 3M Di-Noc. I will post pictures for sure Sunday since I am planning on making some small changes to the loop order.

I updated post #4 with pictures of what I have been working on/doing for the last couple of weeks on the build (moved a few picture to other posts). I spent a number of weeks working on the stripes and they finally turned out the way I wanted them to. I am still deciding if I want to make them look battle worn or not. I had also been kicking around the idea of a PSU cover and started working on that. It didn't turn out the way I had hoped so I will be starting from scratch with a similar design. I was unhappy with the 140mm fan in the bottom so I remove it and will be putting an aluminum plate over the fan mounting positions.

Once again I apologize for not posting these sooner. I would like to thank those who have subscribed to this build and hopefully I will be able to get it "done" (minus the carbon fiber) soon. thumb.gif

This past weekend I pulled apart the build. I rerouted the tubing and swapped out the Scythe Gentle Typhoons for something a bit quieter. I have been held up by the bottom panel I am adding. I should have it installed this weekend and be able to proceed with leak testing over the weekend once again. I will have pictures of the progress once I get it leak testing once again. Thanks to those who have viewed and subscribed to my build.

It has been a while since I updated the build log, but I have made some progress, rerouted some of the tubing, installed lower plate, swapped out the Gentle Typhoons for Corsair SP-120s, and removed the plastic window for some plexi-glass. I have it up and running once again. I added the most recent pictures to Post #4. I will definatly be doing more professional looking ones once I have the build all complete. I am still waiting on getting the carbon fiber done to the front and top of the Switch 810.

I've missed a lot since I last saw this post.... Your build looks fantastic. Gahh, those fingerprints and smudges on your case... One reason why I don't like glossy surfaces.

Thanks! Yeah, I have to buy the anti-static acrylic cleaner and I am hoping once I get the carbon fiber done, finger prints will be harder to see.

Been a long time since I updated this build log. It has suffered some delays as well as gained some new ideas.

I had originally planned to have the carbon fiber done using hydro-dipping, but that fell through with constant delays on the part of the dipper. I have decided to switch to the vinyl wrapping and will be proceeding with that when the next part of the project is complete. While I was waiting for the hydro-dipping I was thinking about the ability to expand with the Switch. This lead me to see that I would not have enough radiator space for additional graphics card and overclocking. I saw a log about a pedestal for a phantom and IT Diva's massive water-cooled rig. I figured the pedestal would be more appropriate. I contacted Dwood and he thought it was a good idea. Today I am happy to say that I get to finally see the impeccable craftsmanship and talent he has. I look forward to seeing it in person when he is complete and can't wait to finally finish this project.

Since I will be adding additional radiators and eventually graphics cards I have decided to switch to a dual loop system. I will be getting a bay reservoir for the CPU loop and most of the current equipment will be used in the GPU loop.

Edit: Dwood's build log for the pedestal.

I was stoked on your build before, now, with the pedestal, it is truly awesome. You will be floored by the quality of Dwood's work. If you are going to have a dual bay res in the front of the case, have Dwood set you up with a cover for it.

Here is the one he did for me: I put a piece of purple paper behind my name to match my rig colors.
