Best mobo

I'm about to order an AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ Manchester, what's the best motherboard for it that I can get under 70? preferrably nforce chipset?
I think this one looks decent:
GIGABYTE GA-K8NF-9 Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 ATX $67.99 + $5.64 shipping
Or
DFI NF4 INFINITY Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 ATX $69.99 + $6.13 shipping

You might want to look into an Opteron 165 for $159.99 and spend a bit more money on the motherboard. An DFI Lanparty Ultra D for $104.99 might get in budget that way.

Definitely, even the "bad oc'ing" Opterons are reaching around 2.5 GHz and with a Lanparty mobo, that's "almost" guaranteed. Just keep in mind that you will need to change/upgrade your memory before getting that mobo.

I dont recommend a gigabyte board, they have a boot bug that gives you all kinds of issues when you boot up, as in, it will attempt to register the IDE devices and wont, then lock up and repeat. Eventually it will boot and be fine, but its a pain in the neck, and if its anything like the K8N Pro SLI it has passive cooling on the northbridge.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103586 is that one as good/better?

Opty 170 is good also, but the funny thing is that the 165 generally is the better overclocker. I had an 170, which ran 2.7GHz 24/7 and could reach an unstable 2.9GHz for benchmarking. A good stepping 165 is known to reach 3.0GHz.

I think they're both very capable, and decent overclockers (2.5 - 2.6GHz should be no problem with either), but with luck, you can get a 165 that hits 3.0GHz, which is harder for the 170.

Thanks, I may get the 165..Just have to wait until it comes back in stock.

Now I just got to manage to get up some cash for better ram.

Another quick question...

Will my Arctic Cooler 64 Pro work with the 165?
