This would be great if it only affects the area applied!

I like my stubble but my neck takes a punishment, be great to clean that up for good.

Or glass...

I leave that up to my barber. A straight razor in my hand would be tantamount to suicide.

OT: If you have never gotten a straight razor shave from your barber I highly encourage it. You can literally hear women who walk by become pregnant given how manly you feel.

Straight razor, real shaving cream and a badger hair brush.... heck yes. I miss mine.

This looks awesome. I would love to treat some of my hair.... given that I'm progressing towards 70's style old italian guy wool sweater at only 25 I can't even imagine how bad it will be in 10 years. I'll look like a freaking wookie.

I had assumed that this was an April Fools post, but the general consensus is that it is real? Nair has been around for about 50 years, although it is not permanent. I guess the Nair in the jockstrap pranks are now going to have lifelong consequences. What's next? A laxative that permanently gives people loose stool, so the ex-lax in the brownies pranks will make people have to wear Depends the rest of their lives?

Nair is very harsh on the skin and unsafe to use on various parts of your body. If you didn't think there was a market for this you didn't realize how well lazer hair removal is doing, well at least in the US and yes it's doing very well.

So now, when it gets long enough to itch, I just use hair clippers without a guard.
My gf thinks its too prickly the first day, but purrrrfect about 3 days later wink.gif
Back when I had a job that required me to shave, I would sometimes forget to before leaving the house. Then I'd end up shaving with one hand, in traffic, with no mirror, no soap, and no water. It turns out that if you do it every day, and never let your beard grow longer than tiny stubble, dryshaving stops irritating your skin after a couple weeks. I would not shave on weekends though, so I'd be right back to razor burn on Monday.

Yup. I tend to forget to shave a lot in the morning since the problem for me is to get up. So i tend to either not have time, or simply am to per-occupied waking up to remember to shave, so when i get to work, first thing i do is excuse my self to the bathroom and shave. I shave with just water 90% of the time, but there was a time once when i shaved dry for a couple of months, and as you said your skin actually gets used to it and after about a week and a half my skin stopped irritating and i could shave dry and not worry about razor burns.

I didn't say anything about there not being a market for permanent hair removal. My post was just commentary on how this stuff will be abused. When I read this news my very first thought was about Nair and the pranks that have been standard with that crap for quite some time now. Several of the pranksters I knew when growing up would use the new permananet Nair for a prank without a second thought, the same way that they used Nair with it's less than permanent hair removal for "jokes". Just imagine the "nerdy kid" waking up after a slumber party and having some goo on his head, he washes it off and his hair falls out in clumps, leaving him with a crude mohawk. HAHA! You are a Mr T for the rest of your life! thumb.gif
