idk it feels like its running smooth to me... maybe fraps is just wrong? what are you guys using to monitor frame rates if I turn msaa to 4x it goes to 60 most of the time..

Must be a bug in fraps, afterburner is showing 60 fps and fraps only shows 30.

I am curious about this too ... those screenies look to have no AA going on. Perhaps that's why framerates are so high?

It's weird...I disabled FXAA and MSAA in game and instead tried to force 8x AA and 8x SSAA from Nvidia CP. Don't think it worked. But...when I disabled the AA settings in MP3 the menus immediately became much more responsive. Went in game with the settings above and I can clearly tell AA is off and that it's not getting pushed from the CP..my frames are in the 400s lol.

I wonder if something is going on with the AA in the game...

Haha! And THAT'S what I call optimizing a game to the fullest! haha!

Awesome work RS!

I can confirm that at least FXAA is working in game. I paused it and am able to go from None, Software, Normal, High, and Very High. Each time I apply the change I can see the AA working against the image under the menu overlay.

Game looks smoother IMO with just FXAA on and no MSAA..have a feeling something isn't right with the MSAA option.

Man you have a 670... definitively there's something that's blocking the framerate. Check the Nvidia's Control Panel and use the commons sense to figure out the option that could possibly be blocking the framerate.

Have you recently installed any "strange" program that may be related to that?

MSAA is more demanding that FXAA, that's why. FXAA kinda blurs out the edges, making them look as straight lines, requiring less horse power from your GPU.

Yeah I know, curious to see if others say the same thing or if I'm just sleepy:p

trying to get the framerate to show up using after burner not having much luck.... also should I be using fxaa and msaa at the same time then??

got it all figured out getting nice framerates guess it is just a fraps bug. ARGH had always used fraps before w/ no problems.

Really beautiful game with everything maxed. I have seen up to 1.9GB of texture memory usage!
