[Official] Max Payne 3 PC Information and Screenshot Thread (Not A Port!!!) - Page 68

Fraps always, afterburner and other software alike do not report real FPS. I know, fraps is a pain in the bumm but if you want FPS use that. I see your rig says Crossfire X 7970, have you tried running just one? My laptop with a i5, 460m can run this game pretty well. My 580 and Q6600 flies through so maybe try with just one until they release fixes

Part of the reason I will never SLI/crossfire. When it works it is like gold, when it doesn't I would rage hard.

I wish there was a replay feature like in racing games where I can just watch what I just played from a cinematic camera to take screens.

not off topic at all. Um right click the speaker icon in task bar, go to playback devices, select your device right click it and hit properties then its in the supported formats tab. That sends out a DD signal to my receiver I hear the sound and it shows DD on the receiver..

Processing
• HDMI (Audio Return Channel, 3D, DeepColor,
x.v.Color*1, Lip Sync, DTS*2-HD Master Audio, DTSHD
High Resolution Audio, Dolby TrueHD*3, Dolby
Digital Plus, DSD and Multi-CH PCM)
If it matters, I have the HDMI cable running from my GTX 580 to the receiver.
Anyone else in here where who get additional audio options to choose from than just headphones and stereo?

lol... that is because your receiver has HDMI return audio channel and also supports dolby digital+ mine only supports dolby digital EX and pro logic IIx and does not have a return channel. I also have an onkyo altough im not sure which one I have its a few years old 7.1 system.

I follow you all the way up to the supported formats tab.. I see True-HD, DD, etc. listed there, but there is no way to "run" them per se. True-HD, etc. does work for me with Blu-Ray discs so I know my card can output encoded streams, but having a simple way to test this via Windows would have saved me a headache a few months ago. Please enlighten me.

do you see a test button on the right? across from the check boxes for DD and DTS just put a check in the one you want to test or even highlight it I think and hit test.

No test option for me.. I use an Onkyo reciever as well and this is the actual detected device for my output options. That must be the difference. I have been using the HDMI audio out capabilities from my last two nvidia cards and have been nothing but impressed with the fidelity. Strange. The last game that I know for sure was actually outputting a encoded DD signal was Resident Evil 5. That was many hardware changes ago thou...

OK.. I at least see what you were talking about now. The test options are there under the Realtek device, but I obviously dont use that for output. I only use the onboard realtek for microphone in.. thats it. I didnt look too hard initially, but was intrigued by a embedded DD test in Win7... Thats strange your Onkyo doesnt do audio in over HDMI... PM me if you want to discuss that further.
