[Escapist] Gamers Ship 400 Cupcakes to BioWare in Protest of Mass Effect 3 - Page 4

I've come to hate the Mass Effect fanbase. They are the nVidiot/AMDope fanboys of the video game world who take it far too seriously.

Mad that all three games felt similar (which they should as they are a trilogy)? Don't buy them on Day 1 they're obviously not that good of a product if they are all vanilla games. I get buying the second one and being disappointed, but, certainly not the third one. After already having played 1 and 2, you knew they felt samey, why the hell would you expect something different and then claim to be "betrayed" by Bioware so badly you literally shell out $1000 to send 400 cupcakes to the developer (thus losing more money to an inferior product by your own admission).

I could go on for pages and pages about every conceivable way these 'wounded' Mass Effect fans with detailed reasons why they are being retarded but I just don't see the point in expending that much energy on it, it's not that important (something people like the cupcake senders could take notes from).

EDIT: I do appreciate customers showing their displeasure in unique ways, just not in this case. ... that being said I like to imagine the Effect that Mass quantities of cupcakes arriving at the dev building will have on the devs.

Jeez, parts of the world including the powerhouses are failing left and right, and this is what its citizens deem important? Next ice age couldn't come any faster.

Next time you want to buy something cool like a gfx card or a new TV don't, spend it on the country/world. :D

Fuss cupcakes. I have a feeling they might have been set up following a recent video game.

Mad that all three games felt similar (which they should as they are a trilogy)?

If you think this is why ME fans are pissed then you haven't been paying attention. All three ME games are NOT the same, ME2 and ME3 were a progression of increased simplification and increased planned DLC.

This is a cop out response, when the DLC is planned from the start as most of ME2's DLC was, then you can't simply be happy not buying the DLC. Furthermore, recent leaks and the Day 1 DLC in ME2 (free) and ME3 (paied) proves that their stratagy is a shortened development cycle which results in less game content. It's "planned DLC" and hence its a strategy whereby they sneakily increase the price of what would have been a base game before, or more accurately what other developers would consider a "complete game."

Again, 1 and 2 were not the "samey." I certainly did not contribute to this, but it's not hard to raise 1000$ when so many people are contributing.

Yes you could go on for pages, but from what you've said already it seems you already don't understand what's wrong with the game. If your just going to keep saying "if you don't like it don't buy it" then why are you even bothering?

Maybe you find it annoying, maybe EA/Bioware finds it annoying and probably a lot of people are annoyed by this. But the reality of it is people willing to speak up and do things like this are making their voices heard and the very fact that were discussing their actions makes them "great."

Haha! Definitely a good way to get your point across.

BioWare will probably be mad because all three cupcakes taste the same. May even ask for a refund, or a different flavor.. rolleyes.gif

Pretty classy way to make a protest.

Honestly I don't see what all the fuss is about, ME3 was a decent game in my opinion, the ending didn't bother me all that much too be honest, although it did leave a good amount of unanswered questions.

If you raise $1000, please donate it to a charity. They need it a lot more that this company needs a "protest" of 400 cupcakes.

Charity is bogus and should be abolished. Just sayin.
