hi im thinking of getting the fx 4170 ASUS M4A89GTD PRO USB3 Motherboard and i have a h60 would the h60 be able to handle that kind overclock
post #33 of 36
How would you get it to go to 1.64v I have my load-line set to extreme everything and have all the over-currents disabled and extreme OV on and when ever I bump up the voltage to 1.64 even 1.6 it says voltage error and resets back to stock. Second question; how on earth did you get the temperatures that low on a stock cooler, I have a NH-D14 and even at 1.51V(overvolted, I can get it down to 1.45v and still runs stable) running a prime 95 @4.9GHz It hits 58-61C.
And lets say I did hit the 5.1Ghz from my 4.8Ghz would I see much of a difference in game play?
And if it did and I did run it at 5.1Ghz would my CPU even be able to last until steamroller?(my guess is not)
(I'm usually running my computer @ 75-100% for 6-9hours a day wether it be programming or gaming)

Good luck man! I've got the same CPU cooled by an H60 and I hope to try the OC that you've got some time this week. It will be good fun!

If I were you I would keep the temps around 55 for load. It's really easy to kill one of these FX chips at around 65.
