I'll wait for a crack...

An then they wonder why people resort to piracy, DRM in my opinion only makes things worse because its gonna be cracked anyway and in the end who wants to pirate the game will do it easily while those who pay for it, get screwed because of DRM, was kinda of excited with this game since I always loved the SimCity franchise, but now I'm not touching it.

Ya I wasn't planning on buying it anyway because it's an EA game, this just solidifies my position.

Ive been in long multi day road trips, its near impossible to do any more then just watch movies. Playing games is out of question there. You might say when you're on a plane, to which I ask if you're going to bring your desktop with you?

Come on guys, its 2012. If one doesn't have even a basic DSL connection that's always on, you probably live out in the middle of no where and can at least get satellite connection going. While it would be stupid of them not to include an offline mode, it's not like the online mode is the end of the world. Assuming it's stable, it really shouldn't be an issue.

because everywhere has a stable and available internet connection, right? not everyone has stable access to reliable internet. there's no need to punish those players for where they live - i mean if one only has access to satellite, what then? are you saying they should move so they can play games?

so if there's bad weather or a cut line somewhere you want to be able to not play your games? and you realise satellite internet tends to be expensive (comparatively) and can also have issues of its own (seen the caps on those connections?) or if the servers go down and your connection is fine you feel it's fine to be unable to play?

This, hopefully more people catch wind of this news and their profits drop and they are forced to remove the DRM.

they will spin it as something else though. very few companies are willing to own up to their mistakes when it comes to things like this. after all look at Ubisoft and how many times it screwed up for them (i remember at one point the AC servers were DDoS'ed) to finally do something about it...

Not to mention service issues, because no one seems to remember what happen to Ubisoft Anno 2070 and Driver San Francisco, pretty much all games they decided to use Always On DRM, either the server went down due to DDoS atacks or the servers had issues, yay for that.

You’ll need to stay connected to the net through Origin if you want to keep playing

I didn't get BF3 because of this so I am not going to get SimCity. Sorry EA, you have just lost a sale.
