Dream Intel Build for around $1400 (advice?) - Page 6

Windows 7 is good... but driving 2 hours + gas isn't worth saving $20 on a processor at all. If you could save a bunch more on CPU + mobo, maybe.

But, is it worth saving $70 since you can grab $50 off a Z68 mobo? thinking.gif

can't go straight for the 680 yet, will probably wait for it to drop in price or something. what is everyone's thoughts on using a 37" hdtv for the display?

I mentioned earlier that this build could possibly be put on hold up to late fall. By that time, I'm fairly certain that I'll be getting the 680 and perhaps the new intel processors and mobo combo. but yeah, the 37" vizio is currently hooked to my old hp through vga and for some reason it never occurred to me to hook the the new build to it through hdmi.doh.gif

TVs have lower picture density than monitors. A lower quality resolution often means things like blurry text. If this hasn't bugged you before, then go for it. 1920x1080 is 1920x1080... no harder for the graphics card to run at 37" than 22."

P.S. I'll never understand people who want a $550 video card to power a $150 monitor.
