Read the article.

That 13.5M was another tax.

They've messed up the original article. It should read...

"In financial filings in Sweden, Mojang revealed that its revenues for the 15 months since Minecraft launched in October 2010 totalled $80m (540m Swedish krona), with earnings before interest, taxation, depreciation and amortisation of $13.5m."

They did screw it up, but I think you're still reading it wrong... it says earnings before interest, taxation, depreciation, and amortization of $13.5M. The $13.5M wasn't a tax - that was their pre-tax earnings.

It surprises me that Mojang has high enough expenses to eat away 84% of their revenue. I am trying to imagine what they spent so much money on.

Cars, homes, food, office supplies, there's an unlimited list of potential tax write offs for corps.

I'm so glad they don't tax food (necessary food) and only just junk food.
