I have a lumia 710(i favored it over the 800 because of the removable battery). And I love it. Although the app market doesnt have much yet, but the social integration into the os itself is amazing. Butter smooth UI also. Big win. 9.5/10

only cons i can see possible so far is

*no lock portrait, it can get very annoying if you lie down. But look at the iphone, it took them what? 3 years or something to intergrate that into their phone. Im hoping we can do this in windows 8

*internet explorer is kinda slow at rendering some sites like this site. I dont know why

Other than that, im soo happy

Can't wait for the Nokia Lumia 900 release!

As a user of both Android and WP7, I gotta admit, I enjoy my WP7 more. It has a much lighter and more user friendly OS imop.

<-- jealous

PS- if you love old school RPG's you gotta check out 'Dragon Blade' in the marketplace for WP7. It's a cross between the Dragon Warrior's and Final Fantasy from the NES system. Fun game.

Same biggrin.gif

If you pre-order Lumia now, you'll get it on 6th April instead of 9th.

Fragmentation is a buzz word for Engadget and The Verge. Its an excuse for half assing an app. Temple Run is a big one being pointed out lately cause it doesn't run on the Droid Razr and Bionic, but it does, it just runs like crap just like on the Droid 4 which is the same as a RAZR and Bionic, same chip set. Same with the Galaxy Nexus. Same exact chip set.

Well guyladouche seems to think I have credibility with his well thought-out post.

The reason fragmentation is an issue is because the OEMs AND carriers are given too much power over what hardware that gets shipped with Android and who gets updates, respectively. Android's greatest strength is its weakness.

Case and point:
Quote:
Stats from Google revealed that currently just 0.6 per cent of Android phones are running Ice Cream Sandwich. Gingerbread and Froyo account for 55 per cent and 30.4 per cent respectively.

Quote:
It's taken Android version 2.3, better known as Gingerbread, almost a year to penetrate 39 percent of the platform's userbase.

The latest update to Windows Phone, however, has taken little over a week to tap up 30 percent of users.

Nope, fragmentation isn't an issue at all. /s

I have Android phone and at first I used to install custom roms, overclock the CPU, customize the UI etc. but pretty soon I got tired of that. For my next phone I will definitely consider the Nokia Lumia range. From my limited Lumia 800 testing at store WP7 seems to be very smooth OS. One thing I don't like is that apps for the WP7 seem to be more expensive compared to iOS and Android.

That should change imo as Windows Phone becomes more popular and you have larger development teams joining the party, then smaller teams, individuals etc. Competition will ensue and boom, lower prices over time. smile.gif
