Temp Check with new HD 7970

Old Setup:
I'm currently using a RASA 750 Pump/Res
RS360 Rad
RS240 Rad
RASA CPU Block on an i5-2500k at 4.5ghz
Danger Den GTX 560 ti block on an evga gtx 560 ti at 1ghz

While running prime95/furmark at the same time my temps were about 65c CPU, 50c GPU

New GPU: Sapphire HD 7970 with EK Copper/Acetal Waterblocks
GPU Clocked at 1200/1600 with 1.2v

Now while running furmark ALONE my temps are 50c CPU, 60c GPU

So you guys think I messed up my mount and need to disassemble or is good and the HD 7970 just puts out that much more heat?

I have a very similar setup to you. Only difference is that I have a 2600K and I use a Laing DDC pump.

My temps very rarely get above 40c from what I have noticed. I'll give Furmark a quick run now and see what I get. What voltage are you using on your CPU out of curiosity?

Edit: Just ran furmark with the same clock and voltage settings you have. Ran for about 5 mins and didn't get above 41c (ambient 23c).

I also ran prime after a couple of minutes (while furmark was running) and my CPU temp reached 63c. My CPU block is a RASA as well and my CPU is at 4.5ghz with 1.35v. Not sure what conclusion this leaves for you as there are differences between mine yours but at least it gives you a little bit of a reference.

Thanks for the reference, it appears that my GPU is higher than it should be so i took it apart and re-seated it and the temps are the same >.<<br />
What fans are you running?, I am using 3 cougar vortex fans in push on the RS360 and 4 on the RS240 in p/p at 100% speed while testing

I'm using Scythe Ultra Kaze's. There only running at about a third of there speed. Running them on max doesn't really make any difference. Only maybe a degree or two.

Whats your ambient temperature? What thermal paste are you using? I've not been studying other peoples findings but from what I have noticed peoples max temps don't seem to be much above 40c.

I should also mention that I am using TFC xchanger rads which are roughly twice as thick as the ones you are using but again from what I have seen people generaly aren't as high as what you are getting even with lesser cooling.
