Now, on to the issue at hand. Sometimes I will get what seems to be erratic values on some sensors, like in this screenshot:

At first, I panicked and posted about it on the Devil's Canyon Owners' thread, but LostParticle pointed me here. When I realized that there is no way that my cache and I/O received 2.4V and survived (Not to mention my mobo VRM being at -40C or something like that), I thought that maybe I would try to pinpoint what the issue is. So far, I've been unsuccessful. The only thing I've noticed is that it usually happens when the GPU is under load. At least that's what I think. It just happened again and I'd only run 20 minutes BF4, then a FireStrike run and two Valley runs for testing my GPU stability.

Also, and don't take my word for this, I think it started happening only after updating to version 5.13. Again, I'm not sure, I just think so. It doesn't happen every day either, so I can't be sure.

Bad thing is, it didn't happen as long as I had debugging enabled and I forgot to turn it back on after I downloaded the latest beta, so the last time it happened went unrecorded, sadly. Apart from screeenies and a debug log, what else can I do to help you diagnose the issue? smile.gif

It looks you have moved some items from their original position in the sensor list, so I assume all the problematic values originally belong to the ASUS EC sensor.
Well, this one is problematic and that's also why you get the initial warning from HWiNFO. The values you see are certainly wrong and caused by erratic readout from the sensor. Unfortunately because access to that sensor is not well designed (by origin), erratic readouts can happen when for example using multiple tools to access this sensor (including ASUS AI Suite). High system load can also be the reason, because it causes the agents trying to read values from this sensor to get out of sync with the Embedded Controller. I'm afraid there's nothing I can do to fix this - it's a bad design choice for this sensor/interface. So I can only suggest to ignore those erratic values and don't worry about it.

Well, you assumed correctly. I do get kind of OCD about how things on my screen are laid out, so I move stuff around a lot. And yes, these were all from that sensor, so it appears that either it had happened before without me noticing, or it just randomly happened now for no reason.

Still, knowing that it's actually just the reading that's wrong was a relief. At this point I'd only wanted to see if it had anything to do with the app and perhaps I could help solve any problems. Since it's Asus' problem, it's also for them to solve.

Thanks for your time, then! Keep up the great work! smile.gif

Installed this today and when I started it up my H110i GTX fans immediately went nuts. This was before I even selected anything (yes I did disable its sensor)??

The fans did not sound normal again until I restarted my system.. Uninstalled for now. Anyone else had this?

You're probably running the Corsair Link Software. Unfortunately the CL software doesn't play nice with any other tool accessing their hardware and it can cause the problems you see. HWiNFO and other tools accessing the CL are synchronized to work together except Corsair Link. We (and several other tools developers) are trying to convince Corsair to implement a simple synchronization to avoid such problems since several years, but they are ignoring it. Their forums are full of such issues.
So currently the only way if you want to monitor their coolers using other tools like HWiNFO is to stop using Corsair Link.

Thanks for your reply. Yes corsair link was installed but I'm not a fan of it and actually don't keep it running and it was not running at the time.

If you're using Corsair Link v4, the service also needs to be stopped. Please make sure that the "CLink4Service" is stopped (can be done via Task Manager on Win7 and above).

Hey Mumak thanks for all of your hard work i didn't now you had a thread over here .... i am having some issues with the Voltages not reporting right with my msi z170 board .... Is there a way i can send you some info in order for you to check them out ???

As you can see in the picture it states that my actual Vcore is 1.128 while i entered 1.345 in the BIOS and Cpuz reports the vcore correctly since i am using auto LLC for now ....

TIA

Sorry for the delay in response, I had to check in detail about this. It seems your mainboard model requires a bit special handling for Vcore reporting. This shall be fixed in the next HWiNFO build wink.gif
Just please confirm your exact model - is it MS-7968 (Z170A XPOWER GAMING TITANIUM EDITION) ?
