If I try to run any update over HW64_430 my second GPU turns and stays on even at idle. utilization steady 90% but temps lead me to believe this is false reading. haven't really had time to play with it, any tricks getting it to work with CF 7870's?

I'll need more information to track this issue.
- Do you have ULPS enabled ?
- When does that GPU get enabled - during the HWiNFO scan and then stays on with 90% load until you close HWiNFO ?
- Have you tried to disable the "Wake disabled GPUs" option? It might be cause by a problem in OpenCL support of GPU drivers...

biggrin.gif thank you sir! it was the wake disabled GPU option, I was just looking in the sensor options, not the main menu. doh.gif

Hi Mumak firstly thanks for your fantastic all in one sensor monitoring program that simply makes my other programs that i had to run such as real temp to name just one completely redundant!
However i have a problem and would like to know if you could help me find the solution?....I have 2 new R9 290 cards installed in crossfire and i have ULPS disabled!...The problem that i am having is unlike GPU 1 which HWiNFO can see and report my GPU D3D Memory Dedicated and GPU D3D Memory Dynamic and GPU Memory Utilization!...However On my second GPU HWiNFO simply fails to see these sensors?...and for GPU Memory Utilization it does show up but it reads only 0%?...do you know of any solution or workaround for this problem?

The picture below will show you the settings i am using and show you the missing values!...and once again thanks for your fantastic Program thumb.gif

Edit: Also you will see from the picture below that HWiNFO has the 6x6 SMbus exclusion checked!...this came checked at default in HWiNFO and i have left it checked incase it has been done for some reason that i do not know?...However i have unchecked and rechecked this box and shutdown and restarted HWiFO yet i see know change to the sensors that are displayed for my GPU,s from the GPU I2C bus 6 which my graphic cards appear to use!...I wondered why by default the 6X6 I2C bus was excluded?...However below are my settings....Thanks in advance for your help

I'm aware of the issue, that on some multi-GPU configs the D3D memory usage is not displayed for secondary GPUs, but I don't know why that happens. This is based on undocumented functions, so unfortunately I don't have a solution for that. It's not the best way how to determine GPU memory usage, however currently it's the only way for AMD and Intel GPUs, since they don't seem to feature an interface to provide such information.

But it's not related to the GPU I2C Bus Exclusion. By default all checkboxes are disabled, meaning that all GPU I2C buses are scanned. If you have some checked, and you're sure you haven't done that, maybe you copied HWiNFO together with the INI file containing such settings.

Ok thanks for you answer and yes i must have checked that late one night by mistake and shall uncheck it now....thanks for confirming that to me...I also would like to point out that HWiNFO is also not the only program that can not read these sensors...Open hardware monitor could not read them along with playclaw and others!...hopefully in the future we will have documented functions of these sensor so that they can be read and surported!.....Also i have to say that excluding all of the other GPU IC2 bus addresses that my cards are clearly not using allows for HWiNFO to load all of my sensors in seconds!....what a great program you have made!...Thank you very much! thumb.gif

I really hope that AMD and Intel will someday offer functions for more precise monitoring. NVIDIA has such functions in their NVAPI and they work great.
Disabling all GPU I2C buses (or completely disabling GPU I2C support) can significantly reduce the scan time on some machines, however you will loose the GPU VRM or additional GPU sensors.
The recently added GPU I2C Caching option should also significantly reduce the scan time even if you have all GPU I2C buses enabled and you won't loose the additional sensors.

Excluding all GPU IC2 bus addressees other than 6 HWiNFO can still see my VRM temps as conformed in the pictures i posted above!...Also the displayed values are correct and perfectly match GPU-Z biggrin.gif

Also it loads all of my sensors in only 3 seconds!...outstanding!

so im running the sapphire 280x, and the hwinfo only shows the core sensors and voltage, no vrm info. anyway to fix this? i heard that ati may have removed these sensors, but that is unconfirmed

That depends on particular model of the GPU. It's possible to monitor GPU VRM values only if the GPU features a Digital PWM VR circuit. Only some models have this, i.e. my Club 3D HD7950's RoyalKing have such, but a GIGABYTE R9 280X OC WF3 doesn't.

Hi Mumak i would like to update HWINfO i am using the 64bit stand alone version however i would like to switch to the installed version but if thats to diffecult and to save settings then i dont mind downloading the new stand alone version again!...

Is it just a case of backing up the HWiNFO64.INI and over writing the one that comes with the updated version?...And can that also be done with the installed version?....Thanks for any help Mumak
