Its been discussed a billion times, here and there, but mainly for mx browns, however, im curious if that issue is present on a Filco with Blacks, because Im planning on buying a Filco Majestouch 2 with Cherry Black switches. I dont wanna start another troll thread or something, nor do i wanna start another war between The Keyboard Experts on here.. I just want some help. Thats all.
Some people recommended me to buy a CMstorm Quickfire Rapid as it was some sort of a clone of Filco, but Im used to being a perfectionist, and as one, I always look for the best possible. The latter part brings up another question as you can imagine, is Filco the best possible board you can buy as the majority of owners/addicts/people say? Does it have any other flaws except that ugly ping?
the other options were/are CM Storm Qckfire and SS 6Gv2, but as I said, I always go for the best. It is quite expensive for me though, the Filco, especially considering I live in Bulgaria(I'm sure none of you have ever heard of that country lol), BUT I'll save as much as I need to in order to buy it, unless it has other flaws which could lead to break the deal.
2 key caps on my filco tenkeyless ninja had worn out patches after a week of use, i thought it was just a defect with the first key until it happened with the 2nd key. the 2 keys it happened to were S and D, will probably expect it to happen to W and A aswell in the future. Not sure why mine happened so quick after a weeks use.
Also 2 of the keys squeak, need to unplug the keys and put some white lithium grease or something.
Get it out of your head that it's a "filco clone". Filco and the CMStorm QF (along with some other boards) share the same OEM, and thus share the same core components. With that said, I have yet to experience this "ping" and, to be honest, I'm not listening for it and it's not something I'm really concerned with because if Filco boards ping then other boards based on the same technology (Cherry MX Switch) will "ping"
If I put my ear to the keyboard, then the spring makes a ping noise that it is supposed to make.
However it is 100% inaudible unless you type with your ear glued to the KB, and even then it's 50/50.
My MX Reds and Browns boards are exactly the same (Filco/CM boards).

I see. Do you have any experience with a Black Filco? Im seeking for guys who have them. But thanks anyway. I'm like 70%-30% for getting a Filco anyway.
Well, I had to. because i've heard some videos on youtube that were just awful. that sound would just kill me. But its obviously rare 'issue' and rather an illusion.
