Well... just start the Step-Up process. See what number you are in the queue. If you don't like it cancel or just wait it out.

Idestroy skyrim with a 4890 1gb with my max resolution 1680x1050 (0 lag everything maxed and some mods) and since your card is way better then mine if i were you i would not upgrade.
It is the same for all games crysis 2,batman arkham city, island of the dead, d3, dota2 cs:go. Imo save the money for a bigger upgrade even if your rich unless you play at a freaking insane resolution.

I only play at 1080p.

The thing that made me really want to do this was STALKER: Call of Pripyat acting up and giving me around 40-50 FPS when maxed around Skadovsk. I was worried it was my setup but I think the game engine is just bad.

I still dunno what to do! I need convincing very badly. Convince me to do it, convince me not to, etc.

I have until May 7th to Step-Up. Should I wait a little longer to see what EVGA release? Maybe they'll release a 3-4gb version or something soon?

You should definitely wait to see what they release until then. Your card is plenty powerful for now, and maybe by then they'll release their non-ref 680, or one with 4GB VRAM.
Only reasons you should not do this are if you're planning to do a custom water loop (And thus need a refernece card), or if you're actually having performance issues right now.

It's my understanding that they only let you step up to reference versions. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Not sure if you could even step up to a 4GB model... If the OP can, I'd wait, otherwise jump on board now wink.gif
