i'd experiment with llc 1st ..it's apples or apples..unless you're pushing max voltage

Its not essential, but from what i have seen it makes higher clocks more stable. As the more it Droops the higher idle voltage you would have to get, to provide a higher load voltage.

As an example (no real figures).

If i needed 1.4v to get 4.5Ghz and i set it to 1.4v in the bios, it idles at 1.395v say.. Load could go to 1.370v or something and not provide enough.

Then you would have to set it to 1.42/1.42v or so to keep the load voltage up at the required amount.

Remember its just an example, but i normally think that numbers/diagrams etc help my brain work things out rolleyes.gif

okay. so if i can use LLC to keep the voltages steady under idle and under load, then that is preferable to increasing the vcore?

also, do you need 100% stable voltages or is a little variation okay?

i tried 1.25v vcore with level 5/10 LLC but im going to up the LLC to see if i can get it more stable because i still have voltage instability.. actually it seems like more instability now

edit: after upping the LLC to 8/10, i got stable voltages, but the vcore is being reported as 1.35. does that make sense?

Well with mine, i set it to 1.345v in the bios with LLC on Ultra High (mine is out of Low Medium etc etc... Ultra high is 5/6) i get idle volts of 1.344 and then a lot voltage of 1.336 so i still get droop.

If i go to extreme on my LLC(6/6) i get vRise which i dont like. It is pretty hard to get your voltages to be identical on load and idle, get them as close as can be.

It wont harm having droop biggrin.gif

interesting. when i use all "auto" settings in the motherboard without LLC enabled, i get a stable vcore of 1.262 under load but i also get somtimes on idle vcores of 0.86 . is this what you mean by vrise? is this bad?
