So as the title states, Im having a bit of trouble.

I set everything up, I installed the drivers from the website, and everything worked perfect after adjusting the settings. used it for a day, and was going into the equalizer to adjust some of the levels, my son did a keyboard mash and now i cant get the center or rear satellites to produce sound from any movies, youtube, itunes, games, BUT they do register when I do the test in the programming.

it's a setting or something, the drivers are working fine, but i can't seem to find the right setting, anyone have any suggestions?

Hi!smile.gif

Uninstall the Xonar's drivers, restart the PC and install UNi Xonar Drivers instead.

Also, you should disable your OnBoard sound card from BIOS if you haven't yet.

Hope that helps!thumb.gif

here's a stumper. OK, so i attempted to use Driver cleaner pro to kill the old drivers, but they didnt show up on the list, so i used the IOBit uninstaller and registry cleaner, everything "deleted" and i rebooted... to see Xonar load up again down there by the clock. uh... k guess it didnt delete everything, lets try again... but wait, its not in the uninstall program list... or on the normal windows control panel uninstall list... restore the program from the icon that loaded up, and yup, totally active. hmm, well lets see what's going on now... and yes everythings working perfectly again, the driver program is still here, but apparently (according to my computer) the drivers have been deleted.

tldr; ghost drivers running sound in full 5.1 and crisp.thumb.gif

I don't know why you're only getting 2.1 sound, but what happened is Iobit Uninstaller didn't remove everything (as you know), but it did remove the Add/Remove programs entry, so that your computer no longer sees it as installed. You can solve this by reinstalling the same drivers you did before, and then using Add/Remove or RevoUninstaller, which I believe is better than Iobit (removes more leftover stuff) but I have not tested this...

Portable version of RevoUninstaller if you're interested: http://www.revouninstaller.com/download/revouninstaller.zip

EDIT: Well, if its working fine.. guess you don't have to do anything. There should be a way to reset to default settings, try clicking on one of the preset buttons (eg. Music, Movies).
