best LGA 2011 motherboard ..who is the real KING OF THE HILL ?? - Page 2

My vote has always been the Asus ROG, Gigabyte UD7 then EVGA Classified. Personally I don't touch MSi... But that's just me thumb.gif

Thing is, unless you start using benchmarks or reviews, you are gonna end up with a lot of personal opinions an little actual comparison.
For exemple, I'm loving my Sabertooth, I have no use for some of the extra features on other models like bluetooth or dual LAN but I'm sure there are people who want those.

My experiences with this board have been nothing but amazing, great UEFI bios, overclocks really well, awesome benchmark performances, thermal radar with real time fan control. Haven't had to clear CMOS on it, it will load defaults as soon as an OC is unstable and won't POST. But I'm sure other boards are like that too.

All in all I chose this board for the TUF components and the board is, indeed, built like a tank. Love it.

I second this opinion! The Sabertooth X79 is a very good board!

newegg reviews are about as good as reviews from hardwareheaven aka they are freaking terrible.

The Rampage 4 Extreme or MSI Big Bang XPower 2 are the two current top dogs of the first generation of X79 boards, of course second gen X79 is coming soon too.

The problem with user reviews is that the majority of people who have good experiences don't really take the time to say something about it, while the people with bad experiences will want the whole damn world to know.

this

Also, reviews will let you know what you COULD expect, not what you SHOULD expect.

yea DOA happens you know, it happens more than you think, only some are POed enough to make a review about a DOA. In the end it isn't your fault and it gets replaced, half of the time the guy messes it up and blamed the maker.

Rampage 4 Extreme seems to be the favoured board by reviews from what i'v seen and lots of the great OC on OCN seem to be on it that said it seems to have some issues

from what ive briefly read the MSI Big Bang Xpower II seems to have the least amount of issues, I guess alot of boards are having bios issues.
