Another Budget Build for friend

Thread Starter
Another one of my friends are looking to build a budget computer.

His budget is limited to $700 but may consider more if reasonable but strictly aiming at that price point.

This build doesn't need to quickly but even so he wants to finish this in a month or two.
He will be playing Diablo 3 once it comes out and doing some video encoding/editing.

He was thinking about going AMD since it'll be cheaper but intel is up for considering too.
Should he wait for Ivy bridge and go from that?

Wait for IB, then go sandy for the reduced prices would be my choice of CPU...whatver you can squeeze into the budget once the prices start dropping. A new AMD 7000 series GPU would be nice too, seeing as the lower-end Keplers aren't out yet. thumb.gif

Agreed ^^ Plus, if you're interested in second hand parts, I'm sure a lot of people, like myself, will be selling their Sandy CPUs and Motherboards to go Ivy and you should be able to get a decent deal!

But don't you need a certain number of posts and/or rep to get on the OCN marketplace, or to buy stuff there?

Anyone can but from the marketplace. You only need to worry about rep if you're selling.thumb.gif
