Really need something clearing up my upcoming build

Thread Starter
First off, this is my current setup:
450

Im going to be getting a new case very soon (this one) because mine is terrible, has no fans and is ugly.
So
-First of all, will the Coolermaster hyper tx3 evo fit comfortably in the case (width wise)?

-Secondly, can it be mounted to blow air front-to-back? Ive seen so many different things about this, i dont know what to trust.

-Thirdly, will it cover any of my RAM slots? Im only using standard RAM with no heatsinks, but i only have 2 slots for them, so i cant afford to lose either of them

-And lastly, is it worth getting to do an overclock up to about 3.6 - 3.9GHz on my Phenom II x6?

Any help would be greatly appreciated smile.gif

I dont think that cpu cooler will block ram slots. I have a thermaltake frio cpu cooler and it barely covers my ram slot. That cooler is a lot smaller. I also think you can mount it any way you want by looking at the push pin way it mounts. Only thing may be if the fan connector is long enough to reach motherboard.

That cooler is better than the stock one but it depends on your chip and how much voltage it takes to get to 3.9. Every chip is different i would think if you chip takes more than 1.4vcore that cooler may not be enough. You may want to look at a hyper 212 its about the same price as the cooler you listed, but then again its larger.

Better get this

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-063-CS
or
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-220-CM&groupid=701&catid=7&subcat=

These are well made those are more plastic than anything

and for the Heatsink Id get Hyper 212+ and cooler master blade master and deppends which are your memories
and the heatsink has to push the air to the back of the case....(rear exhaust case`s Fan)

I`d OC it to 3.9GHz if you can unless you cant manage to get another CPU

Thanks Conzilla smile.gif
Ive heard that it can overclock by large amounts with very little voltage increase.
And yeah ive heard a lot of people going on about the 212, but i doubt there would be enough space in the case for one.

Pontiac, my budget for a case is ~£35, and plus i dont like the look of either of them.
And i dont mind if they are part plastic really, as long as they look nice and keep the case cool.
Although, i do like the look of this case.
Would a 212+ fit into either of them cases?
And if not, what would, and is still worth it?

And i dont actually need to go up to 3.9GHz, i would just be doing it for the sake of it. I can run things fine as they are on stock.

Oooo, i do like the look of the 430 Elite! And ive found it for £35 on other sites smile.gif
My only worry is a lot of people are saying that they had to buy new PSUs because the cables couldnt reach the right parts, so ill have to check that stuff before i buy.
But all in all, it does look very nice.

Element T can be a good case much better than elite 430 but 430 has more places for coolers

http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/Thermaltake-Element-T-Case-Review/770

http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Thermaltake/Element_T/

and this one has for cable management

I can pretty much guarantee that the 212 would fit in any of the cases listed in this thread, and it would be a way better choice over the TX3.

I would personally go with the corsair carbide 300R because I have done two $600 budget builds in these cases and they are great for the price. They have a ton of cable management options compared to the HAF series cases which IMO are not that great of cases when it really comes to airflow. I love building rigs where you only see the most minimal of wires when looking inside and it also increases the airflow. biggrin.gif

Have you looked at the phantom 410 just saying...

My phantom with good cable management... Best airflow comes with good cable management.

Im more just looking for a visually pleasing case, that has 'some' airflow capabilities.
The Coolermaster looks a lot nicer than the Element T in my opinion, and im not too fussed about cable management tongue.gif

As long as it has better airflow than my current case, looks better and can fit a decent CPU fan in, thats all im bothered about smile.gif

And yeah, the Phantoms do look very nice, but i dont have that much spare money on my hands tongue.gif
