I own a MacBook, and I enjoy using it. I'm addicted to OSX after using it for so many years. There is always a way to get the same task done on Windows, but the experience is just so simple on a Mac. Things like MAMP, Github for Mac, TextMate, Espresso, and the terminal are just so easy to work with. Keep in mind I did say I was aware that the same tasks can be completed on Windows, so please don't give me a list of equivalent programs, I already know what they are. I also use them because I don't always have a Mac in front of me.
When I bought my MacBook it was not this huge rip off that people always assume a Mac will be. I purchased my MacBook before things like Bluetooth, Wireless N 5Ghz, and a webcam were standard. At the time if you added all the features a MacBook came standard with to a well built Windows laptop it came to the same price, if not more (this includes things such as the CPU, HDD, and in some cases an extended battery to match the battery life). If you added the features to a flimsy budget laptop you only saved about $150 at the most for a product that would of fallen apart in the time I've owned my MacBook.
The number one thing that annoys me about haters is the RAM price they always bring up. It's not that hard to put your own RAM in most Macs (other than that stupid Air). You don't have to pay Apple their ridiculous RAM prices, just get it yourself and put it in. I'm pretty sure everyone here knows how to install a stick of RAM. If you're arguing for the computer illiterate, why? I'm sure they get ripped off by more vendors than just Apple. Not to mention the price I always see it compared to is RAM you would install yourself in a PC anyways.
