[BGR] Half of all U.S. households own at least one Apple product - Page 19

Some background, I preorderd a Creative Zen Vision M and used it for over 4 years just because I didn't like itunes and ipod's, I hate the mac OS because I want to be able to customize my computer and play my games, and I don't really like to be thought of as hip so no apple for me...ever...or so I thought
I was a big advocate for android and its open ideas so instead of replacing my dumbphone with an iphone 3gs a couple of years ago I bought the original droid when it came out for Verizon (At the time AT$T didn't have 3g where I lived either). I loved it at first but like most people I had to sign a 2-year contract to be able to afford it. And within that 2 years it became so outdated and missed so many updates/features that Google introduced that I could not wait to get rid of it. I mean by the time I replaced it there was already the droid 3 released and my phone had not received an update in over a year. I eventually settled on rooting it and installing cyanogen but the phone had so little ram that it had stability issues, sometimes I would receive a phone call but when I went to answer it the phone would freeze and I would have to pull the battery out of it, wait 2 minutes for it to boot, and then call the person back. The same time I was having all of those issues using a legacy phone with no support my friends with their iphone 3gs were rocking the newest version of iOS and loving it. Now I have an iphone 4s and I will never go back to android.
The flagship android phone that arguably helped it pass iOS and RIM was outdated within months, replaced in less than a year, and abandoned soon after even though 99% of the people that bought it were still under contract has nearly turned me into an apple fanboy tongue.gif
rant over

in the name of an "open" ecosystem people constantly deal with these kind of issues but push them off as some kind of necessity for every phone owner. i know i have had to battery pull my droid x probably close to 30 times in the 2 years of owning it, wiped it a few times, rooted/unrooted, etc. people around these parts just say it's trial and error and it's worth it in the end. they claim that their phone is completely stable and they've never had a problem with it, and then go on to call everyone who wants a phone that just works every day like it did the day before stupid or sheep. i know a lot of people with android and iOS and the ones with iOS have put in less work on their $200 product to get it to work like they want it to. even the jailbreaking looks cleaner on the iphone.

i actually bought the razr maxx and loved everything about it, except that i would have the same OS as my 2 year old phone (that took a year and a half to get updated to gingerbread) and i get a "?" next to the date for when it will get updated. meanwhile i think my girlfriends iphone has already had 2 updates and the phone hasn't so much as hiccuped once.

Amen to that. My Droid X is such a slow turd. It's so bad that when my upgrade time comes I'm downgrading to a dumb phone.

i have a samsung charge and driod and it updates pretty often, i have owned it less than 1 year and it has had at least 2 major system updates. Its fast, does what i want, and so on. However it also costs twice as much as I would have to pay for an iPhone, but I got it when it came out. I don't' think it costs nearly as much now.

if almost half of the US has at least one apple product, shouldn't apple take advantage of this GREAT opportunity and start targeted advertisements?
