2700K - 5ghz - 1.46v - ?? - long term okay? Or try and source a lower volt chip? - Page 3

Now I'm worried. For me to get a stable Prime95 over 10 +hours at 5 GHz I had to turn off Hyperthreading so I'm running 1 thread per core. I also bumped PLC and VCC. I reall ymiss being able to overlcok the bus as that made a fantastic difference in games on my old i920. Besides data corrption can running the bus at say, 101 instead of 100 damage anything?

I'm against the taking stuff back until you get one that can OC well. Too many people do that and the retailers are going to make us all pay for it one way or another.

I'm surprised you returned a CPU in the first place, I've never seen a a problem related to a bad CPU.

I abuse the hell out of my local retailers. Their return policy and the fact that they allow me instant gratification are the only real reasons I still shop with them, anyway. Everything else can be found cheaper online.

And why return a CPU?

Oh, you know... OCD, sporadic anxiety attacks, insomnia, a bit more OCD... smile.gif ...those sorts of things.

FWIW...I'm just sticking with this fat chip and might watch the forums for a deal on a lower volt one. Their pretty cheap, anyway...

After reseating the H100, I would try going outside every once in a while. It really calms the nerves.
