It's not a problem to pay for a hack or cheat, then? You can either play normally or pay to get an advantage, no?
This is stupid and wrong. I hate it.

You wouldn't really be getting an advantage, though, would you? The guns aren't going to aim themselves. The vehicle unlocks aren't going to teach you how to pilot a jet or helicopter.

Really doesn't matter. Paying to unlock things in games is pathetic. It's horrendous and I think it will encourage more and more companies to do this and before you know it (mark my words) there will be the price for the game, price for maps and a price for a gun/feature that can only be bought.

It sucks and it shows the greed in the games industry. PC games carry no license fees and are not terribly time consuming to create (alongside console versions) and there is no resale value in them at all so why, oh why, are they subjecting the PC market to this utter crap? Money. You think any form of share of that money will go to the people that made it? No, it'll be paid out in dividends to shareholders who have no truck with games at all. It's disgusting!

No, but half the fun is unlocking the stuff and part and parcel of being the max level is that you've worked to get there and worked to unlock the stuff. Now people can just buy them and not have to work or put any effort into the unlocks.

I'm totally against this kind of stuff, especially "free2play/pay2win" and those horrible Facebook games.

There is a price for the game, price for maps, and price for a gun/feature already.

They are called map packs, dlc/expansions.

Problem people aren't super gamers like you, and maybe on dish out 2 hours a week for example, they're forced to used the guns, most difficult to handle with no add-on or sight attachments and don't get the full gaming experience they paid for.

But problem is this is paid for yet it still using the free 2 play model with selling guns. The EA money grab machine is irritates me a lot.

With tf2 at least, items drop like hot cakes and so new ones you'll get fast and their easily craft able even if you spend no money on the game, and then you could always idle on a server to get your week's quota of items if your not much of a gamer.

ehh, after thinking about it, i do not mind at least they have to work to unlock the attachments. I find more pleasure in unlocking them myself and having a goal to work for.

I don't have a huge problem with this. As long as they are not forcing you to buy more things, I don't see a problem. If people want to unlock content by paying instead of playing that's fine with me. The only problem I have with bf3 is the lack of an in game menu on the pc version.

Half the fun for you is being able to unlock the stuff. I don't like the idea of being able to buy your unlocks, but I know not everyone has the time or enjoys grinding for weapons like some of us do. We still get our experience and they get theirs. As long as they're not getting any form of advantage, then it's not big deal.

I rarely play at all and I'm level 22 on the game. And it still pisses me off.

Well, no, they ruin our experience because you see a level 2 jetting around with heatseekers that I many not have unlocked yet. It took me all my time to get the HSers on the jets because I was struggling to stay in the air for too long as the other team had already unlocked them and were proceeding to blow me to bits, I got my break when I found a server full of people in my position and it leveled the playing field a fair bit - point is I earned them. Which was frustrating enough as it was. I'm sure there won't be a million people flocking to buy the unlocks but like I said it sets another dangerous precedent for games in general. Can't be arsed to play the game the normal way? Fine, pay more and get the game fully unlocked. Hell, why bother playing the 20 hours of a campaign mode? Why do as that idiot from Bioware wanted and to have a "skip gameplay" button? Next there'll be paywall's for other items of a game that isn't DLC.

This is DLC all over again, imho. One company did it. People flocked out to buy the DLC because they couldn't bide not having it, then all the companies started doing it and people talk about it as if it's a norm or totally OK to short change people on content. Within a year more companies will do this on their games and it's going to ruin the game experience frown.gif
