[PC Gamer] Now you can pay £32 to unlock everything in Battlefield 3 - Page 6

It's literally unbelievable the depths people will go through just to be upset about something......anything.......even if it has literally no effect on their playing experience.

Are people really that upset that OTHER people are supposedly ruining their own "fun", assuming that people truly believe that their version of what fun is, is universally applicable?

It's also truly astounding how you shy away from quoting those you mean to address.

Here's the problem, though:

Yes. Yes it does affect everyone else's playing experience.

I'm level 22/3. I haven't unlocked everything.

Someone is level 10 and has bought the unlocks for everything. He has the advantage of having a wider range of equipment. You can't buy skill, sure, but you can buy the advantage for real money.

What is truly astounding is people like you who will troll others and get away with it time and time again with those kinds of posts.

The definition of "fun" in the game has just been changed by EA. Not me, or anyone else here. The "fun" in the game was unlocking, playing with friends, fragging and leveling up. I am not trying to impose my rules onto anyone else. Those were the definitions of the game as of yesterday. Now they've changed.

Oh and as for the "getting upset at anything" don't claim to know anyone here because unless you're friends with them and have spent time talking to them you don't know squat about anyone. I have hated this change in the gaming industry since those Facebook games that allow you to buy the advantage for real money and the free2play games that allow the same thing. They're not fun for me if someone with bigger pockets can change the tide of the game. Stop trolling and post reasonably.

Besides the fact of obvious greedy EA is evil and greedy I don't think this is a bad thing especially since the game has been out for a while. I completely dislike the idea of unlocking anything especially individually unlocking attachments for each gun, but I wouldn't pay for it. However this is something that doesnt affect balance, is not needed, and people who do this obviously have enough money to waste on something so menial is fine.

TL:DR

As long you are buying something that isnt morally wrong or creates an unfair advantage in a game spend your money as you wish.

It does create an unfair advantage in the game. Why can't anyone else see this?

2 months ago someone at level 2 didn't have the Engineers AA gun and had to unlock it. Now someone with bigger pockets can unlock it at that level or from the get go and have the advantage over those with bigger pockets?

Whatever happened to playing a game for FUN? You're supposed to play to unlock things, not play with everything already unlocked. That's how the game gets boring. Mine aswell just remove unlocks, and levels all together.

What?! Of course I deserve the same content - I paid the exact same thing as the guy playing 90 hours a week. We DID buy the same game, didn't we? Then, please, tell me how some spoiled 16 year old home schooler 'deserves' more gear than a guy busting his rear 45-50 hours a week to feed his family?

But, you know what? You're right. Let's DEFINITELY get rid of unlocks and levels and go back to BF42 style. That would make me happy. thumb.gif

.

You may be at a slight disadvantage for a short time but it doesnt take long to unlock things. And if you are so concerned about being at a disadvantage there are lots of ways to "power level". Assuming you have friends you can revive/kill and get mass points, or repair, etc. Its not like the starting guns arent good (except snipers) and even if they aren't you unlock a "good" gun quickly unless your terrible.

Unlocking and leveling up are just barriers and create an uneven playing field. I hate both of these things. The only reason why I think levels are important is because they provide some indication of player skill or team balance since bf games stack teams all the time. I realize BF3 isnt a balanced game and I don't play it for that and get mad that its not. The game is full of problems and I greatly perfer BFBC2 over it so far.

EA didnt change the definition of fun... its subjective first of all... EA is a lot of bad things, but they cant change whats fun.

LOL you play facebook games and pay for advantage games and are mad they get an advantage! LOLOOLLOLOLOL.... Don't play those games if you don't like them. I ate this tabasco. But it was spicy. Please stop making tabasco so spicy its not fun.

It's ok if there are no stars it's an OCN approved word =D

I'm still against buying it. I work mostly on my computer doing my university work and find little time to play and little money to buy my way around the world. I would be lucky to play 2 hours a fortnight of BF3 but I still like the system of unlocking them naturally though gameplay. Basically, any kind fo system that rewards people with more money is going to come under my fire.

and now I really am out. I'm going to and try the update and see what's what.

These will let players pay to get hold of unlocks like weapons, attachments and vehicle add-ons without having to level up.

Well will end up taking most of the fun out of the game for me personally. Good thing it's optional, but then again I don't even have BF3 so this doesn't really effect me laugher.gif
