Can't wait for this one. I just installed an 8800 GTX in my friend's rig and I have been tempted to pick one up myself, just for Crysis. Although I am still a little concerned with already replacing a card I spent $650 on less than a year ago, I am happy with ATi and will surely have the X2800XTX or whatever it will be called.

Until then I can worry about getting the rest of my rig ready....new case, retail version of Vista, more RAM, new Monitor, maybe new MoBo...Ready for stage 2 of my always evolving computer!

EDIT: Oh yeah, and probably a new PSU. Duh!

It would definitely be a difficult task to fit a R600 in an HP Case.

The 8800 from evga comes with power adapters for their cards, so as long as you have a couple spare 4pin connectors you'll probably be good to go with the R600/X2K series.

Heard some bad news from wikipedia:

"ATI is targeting February 14 (Valentine's Day) for sending R600 review samples to the hands of the press.

ATI will hold a "Tech day" event as a run-up event for CeBIT [10] in Amsterdam over a period of two days from the March 11 to the March 13, 2007 [11] and was reported to launch R600 during the event period.

According to VR-zone, R600 will be available in April 2007, the R610 and R630 (or RV610 and RV630) will be available in May 2007."

My money is on St. Patricks day, March 17th.

Not much to look at, is it?

I think I'm going to just go ahead and get a 8800 GTS 640MB. The BFG is $410 on newegg, any guess on what the price will be for the R600?

When the 8800 debuted, it was being sold for close to $650--probably because it was the only dx10 card and stomped the competition.

I'm guessing the R600 will cost around $600 for top of the line and will hover there for the next three months. Any oninions?

BTW the Inquirer has the R600 going into production in April! Grrr! I hate those guys. Especially Faud.

$600 is probably about right.

An excellent price for us brits in the USA. $600 = 300 pounds, when the R600 is released in the UK it will be close to 600 pounds The 8800 GTX still retails in the UK for 500 pounds/$1000........praise the lord for great exchange rates

WHOA!! Why so much!

It only costs around $40 for the shipping I'm guessing.
